Ending off 2018 scrapping

I am sooooooo proud of myself for my scrapping goals this year.... I have scrapped lots (even got all my January 2019 commitments done before Christmas!). Here's one of the last pages I made which was just for fun:

This is a scraplift of a Jowilna orignal page. I used the newish Crafty Girl line from Simple Stories.... love the colours in this one. Just kept the layout fairly close to the original and used lots of stickers in place of some of the embellishments Jow had used.

Now on to some stats on my scrapping:
Total single layouts done: 180
Total double layouts done: 83
Total number of layouts done: 263
this means that I have done 346 pages... that is the MOST layouts and MOST pages I have scrapped in one year and the closest I have ever come to my goal of a page a day! Yes it is largely down to doing the whole of my 2017 album digitally in January this year (69 layouts) and making a start on my 2018 album too... but the majority of the rest of these pages is physical scrapping. I think there are only 3 that need to get photos stuck on to them.

So now what's going to happen with my scrapping in 2019? Well I am on six design teams and so have lots of commitments for next year that will keep me going. Plus I have my 2018 album to do in the project life app.... so I will still be doing lots of scrapping next year!

PL challenge layouts

I have spent the last few days since Christmas working on my 2018 album, in between filing all my finished layouts and tidying up my scraproom, and have taken part in some of the challenges on the Simply Project Life facebook group. Here's what I've made:

The following layouts are for the Documenting December challenges (#docdec18) which was to use different cards on each layout based on the prompt:

Challenge #1 plaids - I made my own plaid card by combining an orange card with a plaid overlay.

Challenge #3 strips 

Challenge #4 Chevrons - our current Christmas photo.

Challenge #5 stars

Challenge #7 wood grain

Challenge #8 hearts & Challenge #10 numbers - I used each side for each challenge.

Challenge #9 word art - used the pink card for this challenge.

Since Boxing Day there has been an impromptu word challenge (#holiday2018) every day to get us scrapping. I thought I'd give this a try too. The word doesn't have to be on the layout but can rather just be inspirational too.

#1 Twinkle - got inspired by the twinkling lights at the Carols by candlelight at Aaron's school.

#2 Magic -  All about the field of cosmos we saw in March on the way home from Wyndford.

#3 Believe - our trip to the flying school open day in Feb.

#4 Wrap - took this as "wrapping up" the school year and did last day of school pics.

#5 Family - a great family visit back in July.

 

#6 Party - the perfect word to get started on scrapping my birthday party. (I might just need to tweak this page a bit still)

and then to round out my digi scrapping I put together a collage layout of my last 50 years pics that I used at my party.

It is soooooooooo good to make a decent start on my 2018 album and to be able to complete these challenges this year still.

Off The Rails - Dec Tutorial - Christmas

Christmas has come and gone and now we are heading towards 2019. Have you managed to get any scrapping done this holiday season? I've done a few pages and LOTS of planning for next year.

The theme for this month at Off The Rails has been "anything goes" and I did this layout about seeing out the old year (yes it's from a few years back!) This layout is inspired by a Jowilna original too.

Now that Christmas is over and we are all looking forward to the new year, I can officially announce that I will be part of the LGS team for another season.

Let's Scrap Sketches - 15 Dec

Yay I am on leave for 2.5 weeks... looking forward to a little bit of sleeping in (hopefully the neighbours co-operate and don't do any gardening early in the morning!) and some scrapping and sewing... plus of course Christmas and family time.

I used some fairly old (okay discontinued!) Kaisercraft papers for my layout... I don't usually use the ones with preprinted images on like this but felt it just worked so well with these pics so why not... just added a few circles with some nuvo mousse and even dug out the matching sticker sheer and went a little crazy. Must admit for a layout created in the middle of a heatwave, it turned out pretty good... my creative brain is on strike with this heat!

This is the great sketch we worked from... as you will see I changed up the photos a little.

ScrapPlezier - Christmas Delivery

It's super duper hot again this week... I really don't cope well when it's so hot...would rathre just lie on the couch and nap! Only one more working day left of this year then I am on holiday for two weeks. Roll on the weekend! I am not planning to do a heck of a lot this year, but my to do list is getting full...will just tackle each task as I can and see where we get too by the time I go back to work in January.

One of the tasks of course is scrapping...this layout I made on Monday and I have another one due for Saturday still needing to be put together....eeck!!!

I've used two different Kaisercraft collections on my layout:
December 25th
Twig & Berry

Yes these are very old collections, but Christmas never goes out of fashion and the colours are always relevant.

I used the green and white papers for my background to mount everything on. The tree is made with bits for a variety of papers, just picking up on colours and patterns. I used a journalling card as a tag sticking out from under the photos. This worked nicely as it already had the date on the card.

To finish off my layout, I added a star which I had diecut. I used various bits from the Twig & Berry collectables pack and the scattered some gold brads around the tree for added effect.

ScrapPlezier - Dec Moodboard

It's getting closer to Christmas and the silly season sure has set in. I've had such a busy week last week with the end of term for school, my busy week billing at work and then also selling my quilling goodies at the Night Market at school as well as setting up my Mom's new pc and printer. Just been soooooooooo busy that I haven't had too much time to scrap. I managed to carve out a few hours yesterday to put this page together:

This layout is totally inspired by a Jowilna original page that I've wanted to do for the last three years! I finally managed to get it done.

I used two items from the Kaisercraft collectables for the Scrapyard collection... the LOVE words matched my layout theme exactly. The rest of my layout is made from Simple Stories paper and Project Life cards that I've had in my stash for years. The background of my page has also had some mixed media techniques applied to it... gesso, gold paint, stamping, texture paste, inking and then brads and thread as well.

We got to play with this moodboard this month. I was influenced more by the gold than the grey and ended up using more black than grey too... but it is all shades of the same colour isn't it?

Quilling goodies

I thought I'd post here with some of the quilling goodies that I've made over the last few months and sold out of this week... yes I am sooooooooooo happy to say that I managed to sell most of my goodies between the school Night Market and church Ladies Fellowship. I've even got a few order that need to be finished quickly in the next two weeks.

First up I made calendars for next year... I made 12 which all got sold and now I have orders for 3 more. They are all different but based on the same basic structure, so will only share one here.

Then there are the variety of angels that I made too:

In the last month I also made this picture as a farewell present for Aaron's science teacher:

Now I need to finish the new orders, so best I get busy.

Let's Scrap Sketches - 1 Dec

Yikes I missed posting this layout at the beginning of the week... better now than never!

Scrapping is about the good and the sad memories.... this was one of those very sad ones for which I took photos.... our bunny died and Aaron wanted to have a funeral.

Having kept to the sketch as much as I could I added a few touches of my own... the bunny at the bottom is from a Fabscraps stencil which was in the ScrapAffairs magazine earlier this year. I used some embossing paste to stencil it on and then applied some White Pearl embossing powder. Once heated it got even more texture... fluffy like a bunny! I stamped the heart in versamark ink and used the same embossing powder so the heart is just a subtle touch to show our love but also our heartache.
