ScrapPlezier - Wheels

I am sharing a layout today with a more "manly" feel to it.... all about piling on the kms in my car.

For my layout I started with the background piece of Kaisercraft paper with the cityscape on it (Off The Wall Collection - Attitude) ... it really was the basis of my inspiration as I keep driving the city roads.

I then added the barcode strip of this piece over the banner piece which is from Kaisercraft Garage Days collection (Tyre Shop). I also used two other barcode strips from this collection.

To keep with the "wheels" theme, I applied some nuvo mouse through my Hurricane Stencil by Jow. I finally decided on my title and created a cutfile for it and then cut it out on my Silhouette Curio machine. A very simple but effective page.

Sketch N Scrap - Card Sketch 130

I am sharing my example of the card sketch today over on the facebook group.

I decided to add some of my quilling to the card so made 3 pretty pink flowers and then added papers in various shades of pinks. I made this card for my Mom who's birthday it is in just a few days time and pink is her favourite colour.

Here is the sketch that I worked with:

Off The Rails - Sept Moodboard - Food

This month's moodboard is all about food. I had a scrap layout all planned for this  but at the last minute decided to rather try my hand at a quilling item just to be a bit different.

I made the mug in my favourite blue colours and of course it's all about my favourite beverage too... a yummy mug of coffee.

Let's Scrap Sketches - 15 Sept

Every now and then I get to do something a little more "girly" with my scrapping... so this layout is predominately pinkish/purple with touches of blues. I used paper from Heidi Swapp Hawthorne range for my layout.
This layout is all about the play that Aaron did at school. You can see the video on my youtube channel even.

I cut my title out on my Curio and then applied blue and pink embossing to the letters.

On my page I subsituted the one photo for a little booklet in which I did my journalling and included the script.

I decided to add a diecut rose to my page - to tie in with the line in Shakespeare's play "A rose by any name will still smell as sweet". I dipped the leaves and flower in various inks to get the right sort of effect and then mounted these underneath the full cutfile which is from Paper Issues.

Here is the sketch that we worked from:

Lets Get Sketchy - Sept 15 Reveal

It's been a busy and frustrating week for me trying to deal with Telkom on Mom's behalf.... grrrr!!! It is sooooooooo frustrating dealing with incompetence and people who don't do what they are supposed to when they are supposed to. Hopefully the situation will get resolved on Monday.

I definitely need to find some happy time in my scraproom now to get back to being my bubbly self. It's therefore lovely to be reminded of this layout I made a few weeks back for today's reveal....

I used some of the new-ish Kaisercraft paper (Miss Betty Collection) and turned the sketch 90 degrees to better suit my photo and allow me to use all the preprinted pieces of paper. I even got to play with some Versafine Clair inks and cut my title out on my Curio.

Check out the blog for loads more wonderful ideas with the sketch.

ScrapPlezier - Sept Moodboard

It's time for a new moodboard and what is better than my absolute favourite colour - BLUE

I chose to make my layout about my and by best buddies doing what we love best - scrapping!!! This layout is based on one by Jowilna.

For my layout I used two strips of Kaisercraft paper and then added some washi tape, ink, stamping, stitching and rubons all in various shades of blue.

Sketch N Scrap - Back To School Challenge

There is an online crop running from today till the end of the month... come and join in all the fun. I am sharing my layout for  today's challenge...

My layout is fairly simple and for us it is all about a school holiday morning breakfast - pancakes (or crepes for those in the Northern Hemisphere!). It's only during the school holidays that I get time to make something special for breakfast and pancakes is not one of my specialities but I am getting better at it with practice.

Here's the awesome sketch you get to work with for this challenge.

Let's Scrap Sketches - 1 Sept

There are days when life just gets toooo busy and posts don't happen on time.. well better late than not at all. Here is my layout for the first sketch for this month from Let's Scrap.

We worked with this great sketch but I decided only to use the right side of the page as that's the photos I had on hand.

Stick It Down - Sept Double

It's a beautiful spring day today and I am in the mood for some relaxing me-time but have way tooooooooooo much on my to do list both at work and home that the relaxing bit might only come when I fall into bed tonight. At least I can share some of what I made last week especially for today's reveal.

This layout was such fun to make... I used up lots of scraps that I have in my "school theme" pile. It was like playing patchwork just much easier that threading a sewing machine! I even got to use up some stash alphas... managed to find all the necessary letters (it's usually the a, e, s and t that I run out of first!)

Lets Get Sketchy - Sept 1 Reveal

Welcome to the first of Spring... yippee! This is one of my favourite seasons... I love seeing the new blossoms and all the little baby birds. It's such a pretty time of the year.

I am still scrapping up a storm and trying to get ahead of myself. Thank goodness I have deadlines and commitments or I might just come to a standstill. Here is the layout I made for today's reveal:

I've been using more and more Kaisercraft papers lately... (a) to use them up as I have a whole stash; and (b) because they are so pretty. This layout is made using a variety of ranges all with the hint of blue. I cut up a whole sheet of pattern paper for the flowers (for a different page) and ended up not using them... so grabbed a few to use here. The colours went perfectly with my photo. I then picked up those same colours for my title which I cut on my Silhouette Curio.

Here's the great sketch we worked with:
