This year is going to be a crazy busy year for me designing.... I just got accepted to another DT... this one for quilling. Yes I am trying very hard to expand my repertoire!

Off The Rails - Jan moodboard - Parents

This month at Off The Rails we've had added inspiration as we are scraplifting each other's styles as well as following the monthly moodboard:

Well I went for the challenge and chose to scraplift Lisa-Marie Watling. I love her layered look but it is sooooooooo not something I do... plus she usually only scraps with one photo which I rarely do either... so I really was stretched. I scraplifted this layout:

As you will see my layout has three extra photos on it... that's because I had them already printed and didn't want to waste them.... plus I felt they told the story too which I journalled about after I had taken the layout photo as it is a little bit more personal.

ScrapPlezier - Scratched

It's weekend! Yippee yay. That means scrapping time for me in my happy place. I will be finishing up some projects that I have on my desk and hopefully starting a few new ones too. It's all part of getting the memories into an album. Just like today's layout:

It's hard to scrap about the not so nice things that happen in life but I try very hard to include those in my album too... like my car being involved in another bumper bashing.. thankfully this one wasn't serious and more of an inconvenience. As I drive a green car I usually try and scrap with green colours. For my layout I used some pretty papers just to soften the blow! I used the Miss Nelly Collection - Her Laugh and then added in the bluish strip and the green dotty bit from the Party Animals Collection - Hooray. I also added some bakers twine in green around the bottom and over the flags at the top. To highlight the scratch theme I used a wonky circle diecut in brown.

Lets Scrap Sketches - 15 Jan

It's been a rather productive week for me at work... got lots done. Also had some lovely rain during the week so that was very refreshing. I am busy with a quilling project at the moment for our NSD event next weekend so haven't done nearly as much scrapping this week. I have thankfully scheduled (at least in my head!) some time to scrap my February DT commitments this weekend so that I can get ahead of schedule. Will have to see how I do.

Here is today's layout for the reveal at Let's Scrap:

As I only had four photos and not enough to make a whole double layout, I chose to do a single. I used the left side of the sketch but then replaced the "title" bit with the flags from the right side of the sketch. I started off too with picking the circle paper from Bo Bunny for my layout as it sort-of represented the lego circles in my brain. I combined this with the stripes from the same range and then picked up blue and grey cardstock for extra contrast. The aeroplane paper from Kaisercraft just ran with the theme and matched the greyish colour.

Sketch N Scrap - Deee-lish

It's time for a layout share at Sketch N Scrap.... I've made a de-lish-ous layout about an equally delicious cake... hehehe... when Aaron saw the layout in the making his comment was that I must make this again... guess it's time for a rerun!

ScrapPlezier - Jan moodboard

Yesterday was such a busy day for me I never got close to my pc at all. I was busy making salads and pudding before going to work, then once done it was fetch and carry Aaron before the long trek to the airport and back to fetch my Uncle and Aunt who flew in from PE. We then had a family supper last night with my brother as well.... busy day but so rewarding. Today will be another busy day with shopping this afternoon for my Aunt and then tomorrow morning I take them to the airport again so they can fly home to Zim. I think then I can put my feet up for a while and maybe get some other things crossed off my to-do list.

Back to the topic of discussion for today though:  Scrapping for ScrapPlezier.

This month's moodboard is definitely a stretch for me.... I don't enjoy scrapping in black & white and have very little in the way of stash to make it work.... but make work I did and I must say I really love how this layout turned out:

For my layout I found an awesome sketch in one of my pinterest folders and then went from there. I hand-stitched a circle in white onto the white background. The one "new" part of my layout is the subtle grey dot stamp which is from the Kaisercraft Scrap Studio set I bought for my birthday. I then added a bit of white texture paste through a stencil. I diecut a whole host of hearts from various Kaisercraft off-cuts that I have that are in different shades/patterns of black. I also added very old Kaisercraft rubons and then the letter stickers for my title. As a final touch I added some washi tape strips and ink splat stamping and the date stamp.

Hope my layout will inspire you to also stretch yourself a bit and make a layout with this moodboard.

ScrapPlezier - Our Memories

I am starting out this month's sharing for ScrapPlezier, with a layout about the close of another one... New Year's Eve dinner 2014.

My layout came together by using various Kaisercraft papers based purely on the colour choices. I started with the circle paper (Lush Collection - Japonica) and then picked up the orange colour in the dots (Little One Collection - Mia). I used a strip of blue polka dots (Bubblegum Hills Collection - Blue Lemonade) for the tag paper. The journalling tag as well as the word strips are all from the bow & Arrow Collection - Fire. Just by working with colours it is easy to make papers from different collections work together.

The last few touches on my layout were the diecut corners in gold and then a sprinkle of star sequins.

Hopefully I have now inspired you to also dig out some papers and make them work together.

Stick It Down - Jan2019 double

The first working Monday of the year... most people were back in the office today so it was really all systems go. For me it is just another day in the office seeing as I started back last week already. In one way it's nice to already be in the groove of working, in another I would really much rather still be on holiday.The one upside of today was that there wasn't any traffic so it was still a breeze getting to work.

Well enough about that for now. Back on the actual topic of today... scrapping. Ok the topic of everyday! I decided to do another panto page for Stick It Down... had enough photos to make this work.

I used my new Jillibeansoup papers for this layout.... love all the bright colours and the various patterns. Making the tags was the perfect excuse to use them all! As I had lots of little photos from the pantomime I created a filmstrip effect down the right side of my page. I found a quote about Neverland and used that as my title which I made using lots of different stickers.

Sketch N Scrap - New Beginning Crop

We're having an online crop to celebrate the new year and new beginnings. This year we will also be throwing in a few bonus challenges on the crops. Here is my card for Challenge No 2.

The bonus challenge I have for you is to use 3 shapes on your card using the sketch below. I used circles, star and triangle (okay they started as triangles and got chopped a little hehehe).

Lets Scrap Sketches - 1 Jan

Well the year has now truly started - I went back to work today! Yip routine is falling into place slowly... next week hubby goes back to work and on Wednesday Aaron starts matric - yikes!

Lets Get Sketchy - 1 Jan

Happy New Year to each and every follower of my blog. I pray that 2019 will be a truly blessed year for us all.

Being the first of the month, it's reveal time and here is my layout for this month:

I scrapped about being published in our local scrapping mag, ScrapAffairs. Such a privilege. I used some Simple Stories papers for my page and found enough alpha stickers in my stash to make my title.
