Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 425

We are slowly getting back on track at Scrapbook Challenges... the plan is a sketch every Monday and a challenge on Wednesday. Here is my layout for today's sketch.

I dug out some old paper (yes only used scraps on this page!) and also my hexagon dies... another quick and easy page done and dusted.

The girls on the team have made a variety of layouts using the sketch, so be sure to check them out on the blog this week.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 354

January is speeding past... our sermon on Sunday mentioned how life is like a rollercoaster... just when it starts it's over... and for me the years seem to do that faster and faster all the time.  I guess with scrapping deadlines always looming it does makes the year rush past too.

Today's reveal is up... I had fun creating this page.. which came together fairly quickly. That's the beauty of sketches... half the thinking has already been done.

I used some leftover elements from a previous scrap class on this page... and also some leftover stars and stickers.

Check out the blog for even more fun ideas.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 424

It's the first sketch reveal for the year from Scrapbook Challenges... and a whole new team to boot too.  Here is my layout that I put together.
I rotated the sketch 90 degrees and moved a few things around to accomodate my photos.  I also played nicely "ala-Jowilna"... hehehe... stamped and coloured my globe and added in some sewing.

There are lots more ideas to see on the blog, so head over there and take a peak.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 353

Well last week I bombarded you with all my completed pages from 2014.... hope you had time to feast your eyes. Now it's back to current scrapping and hopefully keeping ahead with the photos.

I really love the versatility of the NAS sketches... being able to add photos, reduce photo sizes, etc... ie just make it my own.

Check out the blog for lots more ideas on how to use this sketch.

Christmas scrapping

At the end of October I did my first Doing Life class with Desire Fourie... it was also a combined day with Jowilna.  We scrapped Christmas layouts and got into the mood for the festive season.

So there you have it...the last 2 of my 34 layouts that I finished in December... boy am I glad to have conquered that pile of unfinished pages!!!

Helderfontein weekend layouts

Way back in July last year I attended the Scrapbook Studio's weekend held at Helderfontein Estates. It was a great time of learning and creating some amazing pages.... which I have now managed to get finished.

Definitely can't wait for the next event coming up in May in the Midlands and then in July at Helderfontein... lots more layouts to be made.

Class layouts taught by Jowilna - part 2

Another post jam packed full with layouts that I did last year in class with Jowilna and have now managed to finish.

Wow...11 pages all completed in my 2014 album. That is sure one heck of a start on my layouts for that album.

Class layouts taught by Jowilna - part 1

I love learning from Jowilna.... it's really been a year of layouts that are inspired by her... these are part of the batch of layouts that eventually got photos added to them in December.

Each layout is special in it's own way... and I really enjoy the subtle techniques that make up each page... definitely going to continue with classes with Jowilna in the future.

Some Artzy Girl scrapping

During 2014 I attended two different Artzy Girl days...eventually I have managed to finish all my layouts.

First up is the final layout of the day that I went to in March.... you can see the rest of the layouts here

In August there was a Woman's Day scrap and we created the following pages

So that's another 5 pages of the 34 completed in December... yet more to come.

Layouts created in 2014

Over December I edited and printed photos and managed to get a whole bunch of unfinished layouts finally finished... 34 in total!!. Here are some of those that I completed:

This first one is a scraplift of a Bernadette van Veyeren layout that was in ScrapAffairs Issue 44

Next up is a "project life" styled layout... I took the idea of PL but turned it into a double page instead.  This was a kit from Scrapbook and Things

I also did a few layouts from Michelle van Wyk's notes

Then there was also the boat cruise that we did in March with Bohemian Scrapsody.  Though I didn't actually scrap on the cruise, I have managed to finish one of the layouts that I received.

So this is just five of the 34 pages I managed to finish... more to come soon.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 352

Yes I know I just posted yesterday about last week's reveal, but it's Monday again and time for this week's reveal....

I went fairly simple for my page this week... used some colour core cardstock that I had on hand, which I embossed, sanded and tore into the background circle.  Then just added a doily, some leftover strips and some stitching.  The banner flags are all from sticker sheets that I had on hand.  Even my title is a leftover... from a class that I did on Saturday! Love using up some of my ever growing stash!

Check out the reveal on the blog for more awesome ideas.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 351

Phew... 11 days into the new year and I am barely touching sides.  So first up....

I went back to work on Monday and hit the ground running.... working late and overtime already.  Sure hope that things settle down soon and I can begin to take it a little easier.

Thankfully I did get tons of scrapping done during the two weeks I was off work... well not scrapping technically... mainly photos printed and layouts finished... over 20 of them!  They will be coming soon to my blog, so be prepared for lots to ooh and ahh over.

Today, though, I am showing my layout for this week's reveal at NAS... I had a ton of fun making this page:

I used 2ups for all my photos and so got a lot of pics onto my page... 14 in total!  I also cut my title and some splats on my silhouette machine and then added in some ink splats too.  The border is a new one from Couture Creations that I got a few months back but only played with on this page.

This is the sketch we worked with:

The rest of the team also did some amazing layouts this week... see them on the blog.
