ScrapPlezier - Celebrate

It's been a busy week here with various medical appointments last week (braces, eyes, lungs) plus a funeral and yesterday Aaron's confirmation. I am hoping to have a fairly free and quiet week ahead so I can do a little bit of scrapping. I didn't even do any of that per se this weekend as I am working on a different project and so was de-stashing my stash all weekend in preparation.. yip turning scraps of paper into usable bits...circles, hexagons, squares and flowers. My hands are feeling rather tender this morning.

 BUT, scrapping is the name of the game and thankfully I have a few more still to show you... today's one being just one of the many.

For this layout I used two different Kaisercraft collection Fiesta and Tropical Punch. I used the Sombrero paper for the background. Added some strips from the Sunny page and then used flowers from the Hola paper as highlights. Also added the circle and tags cut from the same papers.

This photo was taken a year ago on my brother's birthday. Last week we went back to the same restaurant and celebrated his birthday again (a week late).... very yummy greek food.

Let's Scrap - 15 Sept

It's Friday... yippee yay! But also it's a sad day as we sad goodbye today to a childhood friend of mine, Angela Human (nee Morrison). The service this morning was truly a celebration of Angela's life, not a sad funeral service at all. It was also a good time to catchup with old friends who we haven't seen in 4+ years since Mom left Boksburg.

And then it's back to reality and life goes on for those of us left behind. Part of that life, is of course memory keeping in the form of scrapping... so here is my layout for today's reveal.

I chose to document our VERY yummy pudding that we had at Christmas two years ago...time to make some of this again me thinks!

Stick It Down - September single layout

Yes I did it again... I've created a layout using the single page sketch from Stick It Down.

For my layout I started with a cutfile from Paper Issues (Polka Dot Wreath) and then added some splatters using Irresistible spray in white. My title is made up of various chipboard letters as well as stickers. This layout is also only made from cardstock... not something I do too often.

Scrap Plezier - Sept moodboard

The moodboard is up and this month we have a theme of "happy". I chose to do a layout about Aaron swimming....

I used stickers from the Kaisercraft Sandy Toes and Sail Away collections as well as a few circles cut from Sandy Toes Collection - Ocean and Shells papers.

I coloured a piece of white technique cardstock with 3 different blue distress oxide inks and then added a bit of red. Once dry I ran it through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder to give it a bit of texture. I also added some stitching to the bottom edge. Once this and my photos were stuck down, I added a variety of stickers and punched circles from leftover papers.

ScrapPlezier - Hello New Day

It's a new day and therefore a new layout is up on the blog today... and yes it's all about having my favourite beverage...coffee!

I started this layout by looking for some Project Life cards to use up. Once I found the title card I then used that as my colour inspiration. I added some pieces from the Kaisercraft Lulu & Roy Collection - Grateful paper... used both sides (the red at the top and the blue dots behind my photos).

I added a stamped car and some red stitching plus my journalling. On the background I also did the plastic packet stamp technique with some distress oxide.

This layout also follows on our monthly moodboard theme of roadtripps (hence the car). So whether at home, work or on holiday, coffee is definitely a staple drink for me.

Stick It Down - September reveal

The new sketch for this month is up.

I chose to do a fairly simple layout about the funny monkeys we saw at Maglies Park on our first visit there. The title is from a cutfile from Kerri Bradford. I added some distress oxides to a sheet of book paper before sticking it to a piece of cardstock and then cutting it out on my Curio. I also cut out the circles (which I think were from PaperIssues) and lastly added a strip of film washi tape below my photos.

Exciting News

I am sooooooooooo excited to say that I have been picked for another Design Team - I will be on Team 1 for Off The Rails Scrapbooking.

Here's hoping for a year packed with scrapping and fun.... looking forward to creating more pages in the near future.

Let's Scrap - 1 September

It's the first of spring today...So nice to experience the sunshine and slightly warmer weather (except we didn't really have winter this year). I've managed to do quite a bit of scrapping during August, including all my September DT commitments... so it's nice to be able to showcase them now.
