I've been sick in bed since last Friday... feeling very yuck and not up to much. I can't remember when last I was this sick... think it's over 10 years ago when I had pneumonia. Oh well at least it's a break from the normal routine I guess. I haven't managed to do any scrapping either feeling so under the weather, so it's nice to see a blog post pop up that I did a while back and can now show off.
On my layout I used 2 strips from High Tea Collection - Tea Leaves and AfternoonTea
I added so stamping with stamps from: Oh So Lovely Clear Stamp CS211
I coloured some book paper with oxide inks. one piece is the focal point on the left page. On another piece I stamped some birds and cut them out for adding to my page. I then die cut my title on my Silhouette Curio. Also did a few bits of hand sewing and added buttons, bling and ink splatters.
I can't take all the credit for this design as it is a pure scraplift of a page design by Jowilna Nolte... simply love her work and the inspiration that is gives me. The tecniques have helped me grow immensely too as a scrapper.

Let's Scrap Sketch - 15 June
Today is reveal day at Let's Scrap... I did a matching layout to the one I showed a couple of weeks ago.
I chose some old Bo Bunny paper from my stash to use on this layout along with some very old rubons. I even dug out my stencils to make my title.
Come play along on the blog and see what the other girls did with this sketch.

ScrapPlezier - Published
Following on from the moodboard this month, I continued the floral theme and made this layout
I use Kaisercraft paper from these collections:
Hippy Girl Collection - Earth
Chanteuse Collection - Staccato
For added effect I hand stitched around each of the small squares. Used letter stickers for my title and handwritten journalling.

ScrapPlezier - June Moodboard
This month's moodboard is up and it is soooooooo pretty. I decided to do a layout about flowers.
For this page I used the Kaisercraft Cottage Rose collection
Crochet - green piece, floral tag
Garden - grey & pink stips
Welcome - background
Floral Bouquet - title strip
I kept the layout fairly simple with some machine stitching on the tag, the addition of a straw and twine near the main photo and a few stamps.
This is the moodboard we played with. It is a lot more "peachy" than my layout turned out... but it is definitely where I got my inspiration from.
Why not join us on the blog and play along this month?

A tasty page
During May I tried to do a NSD Challenge with the Mercy Tiara group on Facebook. They had quiet a few challenges but I only managed to do one and then planned a few more. One of the challenges was 4 different sketches from Creative Scrappers. I've managed to scrap them all but can only show my one page now as the other three are for DT layouts coming up in a few weeks
I used new Illustrated Faith paper from Bella Blvd. I added a few wood veneer hearts which I inked and then a few stickers. I also cut my title out on my Curio.

Creative idea
I was busy scrapping this past weekend (no surprise there I guess!) and whilst working on a page I got an idea in my head... well it didn't work on that page so I turned my idea into a single layout instead.
The longest part of this layout was deciding on which papers to use where for the triangles. The cutfile (from Paper Issues) made it all super easy otherwise. Once cut it came together in about 15 minutes.
I've been wanting to do a purely triangle design on a page for a while so this was nice to tick off that "to do"list.

Playing with a new scrapping tool
A few months back I saw a little sewing machine for sale on "Catch of the Day" but missed out on the deal. So when it came up again I grabbed it....it's a tiny little battery operated machine that sews straight.
It's a cute little thing that I bought solely for scrapping... it's not the best machine... very frustrating at times and is either on or off... ie be ready to sew when you switch it on. But at least it only cost me R70 (after gift voucher discounts)... so it's not like it cost the earth!
So now that I have this machine in my possession I decided i needed to test it out on a layout and created this page.
I sewed all around the background paper... with a few glitches and so did a double line of stitching.
I tried another page where I tried to sew further into the page but it was a bit awkward. The little hole to feed stuff through is very small and as paper doesn't bend so easily it was not tooooooooo successful. Note to Self... sew first then stick down.
The other element on my page was a background diecut page that I cut on my Curio. I cut the white piece and then recut a whole bunch of the inside shapes in various patterns before playing to get them to fit.
I also diecut my "pie" word in white and backed it with pattern paper. A few stickers and a date stamp completed my page.
Here's a pic of my machine in action.

Scrapping with new papers
I did a kitted class with Jowilna at the beginning of May... wow the papers we used were stunning... some of the new range from Bella Blvd. This is the page we did:
I finally found some photos to work and finished off my page. Can't believe that it's been a month since I last went to class and saw my friends... guess it's time for another scrappy play date soon.

Scrapbook Generation - Candyland Crop
I spent a good portion of May doing the online crop with Scrapbook Generation and their Candyland crop which was run for National Scrapbook Day on 6th May... well actually it was a week worth of challenges but we had till the end of May to do them. Here's a few of the pages I made for the challenges:
1. All I want to do is scrap - single page
2.All I want to do is scrap - double page
3. A spoonful of sugar
For this challenge I used a sketch from Sketch n Scrap and my layout is posted here
4. Lifesavers - one page sketch
5. Starburst Tic tac toe
6. Lifesavers - two page sketch
7. Decadent Colour - I did my monochromatic layout for this challenge which you can see here.
I didn't manage to do all the challenges this month... but having done 7 of the 16 is not too bad, plus I took part in most of the games during the crop too. May has been a very good scrapping month.
