Nuts About Sketches - Week 267

It's been a busy week again but I did manage to get some scrapping done last week so that I could do this week's layout for my DT commitment.

Don't be scared of the triangles....they are hard to use but boy oh boy I love how my page comes together.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 345

Wow it's been a busy few weeks work-wise... barely catching my breathe and not getting too much scrapping done... but I did manage to get this week's layout done for Scrapbook Challenges

I find myself thinking beyond the  elements on sketches now... like the scallops on this one... and using it just like a "place marker" for something.  I really find that helps me in using up my stash too.  I had the school element paper left over from a previous layout, cut them out and used them here to add to the feel of this page.  Then also found some old school themed rubons and stickers.  Love how this page came together.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 266

I eventually found time to come up for breathe to post my DT layouts for this week... my Nuts About Sketches one really came together easily this week.... and then I started fiddling.

I decided to try my hand at a bit of misting on this page with using flowers as masks..... just a word to remember next time... do this BEFORE sticking everything down!!!

AND to crown it all,once my page was done I found another photo that I was going to use on the page but didn't.  I decided the page was fine just as is.

This sketch sure has lots of potential too.

Paper Mixing Bowl - recipe for May

With Mother's Day just passed, we decided to focus on mother's for the recipe at the Paper Mixing Bowl.

My layout is full of flowers, hearts and is a little messy-looking for me.  I enjoyed making it and love the end product.

Also just a note that this is the last challenge from the Paper Mixing Bowl... it's been a tough decision for Sarah but due to little participation and other DT commitments, she is needing to refocus.  I've definitely enjoyed my time on this team... have been stretched to new heights too.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 265

This week's reveal was up on Monday but due to me being away for the weekend I missed doing my post... so here it is now.

 I chose to do my layout about the day we scattered Dad's ashes... it was a sad but good day to relive memories of him.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 264

We've just been through a stressful week.... Aaron was home most of last week with a sore tummy and after a visit to the doctor on Friday morning, he ended up in hospital and had his appendix out 1-2-3.  So thankfully I had managed to scrap today's design team reveals last weekend and could concentrate on getting Aaron better.

So with that said, here is my layout for Nuts About Sketches

I changed up the photo sizes to add in a few extra ones... and then used little gifts in place of the hexagons on the sketch.
