Nuts About Sketches - Week 137

November has come to an end.... boy only a few days left till Christmas now!  This week's sketch is up on the Nuts About Sketches blog... and the design team have once again done a marvelous job... so be sure to check the layouts out.

In keeping with Christmas being around the corner I decided I had best get some of last year's Christmas photos scrapped.... here is my layout:

In my brother's household they have a variety of traditions that happen year in and year out... and as we were spending Christmas with them Aaron got included in all the activities.... in these pics they kids where making Christingles and then on Christmas Eve they read a poem all about them... I included a bit of the description about this as my journalling on the layout.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 136

Along with all the craziness of the last week there is still the fun of revealing the latest Nuts About Sketches sketch....

and my layout....

I had taken photos of each puzzle that Aaron built... and somehow wanted to include them all on this page.... so I ended up cutting them into puzzle shapes and voila... there they all are!

Check out the blog for yet another week of stunning designs.

Happy Birthday

TO ME!!!!!

Today is my day.... yippee.  I was sooooooo hoping to sleep in but noooooooooo..... Aaron woke me with the sweetest "Happy birthday my 42 year old Mommy" at 6:15 this morning.  After a snuggle or two he decided to make me breakfast in bed.... toast and coffee.... he did admit to burning the first slice of toast so had to do it over.... even put bovril on it for me... mmm yum.

This afternoon my Mom is taking Aaron and myself to see The Nutcraker ballet.... going to be such fun.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 135

Monday has come and gone and it's time to show you another sketch and layout from Nuts About Sketches

For my layout I turned the sketch 90 degrees.  I used a new range of paper from {Art from the Heart} designed by Tracy Schimper... this is such a fun and playful range.

There are some stunning design team layouts this week... so be sure to check out the Nuts About Sketches blog.

Now it's your turn.... scrap a layout using this sketch and upload it with a link to the blog by the 15th of November and you could win a great RAK... more details here

more layouts made in 2010

I've spent some time today going through my list of layouts that I've made this year and discovered that there are some that you haven't seen yet!  So here they are.... and no these are not new ones just created... they stretch back as far as February!

This one is based on a Nuts About Sketches sketch that was actually never released that I know of.

This one I made for a competition run by The Scrapping Studio... we were given the supplies and had to make a double layout

I remember making the next two for a challenge site... I think it was Let's Scrap... but I'm not 100% sure... can't recall off hand

This next one I did for Scrapbook Challenges.... it was a scraplift circle... one person started with a layout then passed it to the next on the list and so on.... I was number six on the list.... I haven't seen any of the other layouts yet but thought that it's safe enough to post this now... about 4 months later!

This layout I did as a class at the Scrapping Studio.... it has three little mini books which hold lots more photos.

This layout is based on a sketch I used for another challenge (at Scrap U) but I liked the sketch so much I just had to do it again.

At the beginning of October I applied to be on the ScrapAttack Scrapbooking design team... but have heard that I didn't make it.... these were my entry layouts:

And that is them all... now I need to start scrapping some more so that I can catch up on my 365 goal... I'm ONLY (!?) 122 layouts behind... hehehe.... at this rate I doubt VERY much that I will make it... but hey I've already scrapped more this year than I did last year so I reckon that is something!

October sketchfest

For the month of October I participated in a scrapbook Sketchfest over at ScrapFriendzy.... we were given 13 sketches and 2 bonus ones to scrap.... and if possible you could do some more than once simply by turning them.... each layout done earned 20 ptz with the extra ones earning 10 ptz.  I didn't manage to do all the sketches but am very please with my layouts that I did do.

These next two got me Pick of the Day on the 29th of October.... earning me an extra 10 ptz

Then this last weekend I managed to scrap these 7 layouts.... six of which were all done on Sunday.... we had a power failure for the whole day so I just hibernated in my scraproom and became very productive!

We also earned points for posting in the forum and for leaving praise in the gallery.... easy points to earn with a little effort.  My total points at the end of the month amounts to...407.... lots of fun I reckon!

Nuts About Sketches - Week 133

Another week has already past... hard to believe we're already in November.  This week's sketch is really lots of fun

For my layout I went very pink.... a total change from my boy pages.... this is a friend's 40th birthday dinner back in May.

My dear friend Judi taught me a fun technique on my photos here.... using the back of your craft knife blade, run a line down the photo about 0.5mm from the edge... creates a distressed frame without loosing any of the photo... such fun!

Be sure to check out the Nuts About Sketches blog for more design team work.
