I joined this website in the last week or so and discovered a whole new world of sketches (yippee!) and challenges.  This weekend of course is "National Scrapbook Day" in USA but it's celebrated worldwide too... and I'll be at the Mega Scrap Day tomorrow with Scrapping Studio.... can't wait.  But for the rest of the weekend I will be hopping around on this blog hop.... so come join in the fun.

long weekend

The weekend is now a  memory of the past.  I wanted to do L-O-T-S of scrapping but ended up having to be IT specialist for two days for my Dad.... trying very hard to get his PC up and running again (unfortunately the modem is giving us hassles!). What with doing washing and ironing too and also a bit of reading and church on Sunday morning, I didn't scrap nearly as much as I had hoped to.... but here are the ones that I did do...

A Candice Greenway inspired layout....

I've ALWAYS said that one day I want to scraplift a "Candice" layout.... and now I have ... with a few twists.  I'm sooooooooo chuffed with how it turned out.  This was done for my final challenge over at Scraptivity.

And so that was all the layouts I made this long weekend... busy me!

When I saw the sketch for the challenge this month at Scrap-A-Tale I just knew I had to enter... and here is my layout....

Okay maybe we will have a bit of a problem today doing this as it is RAINING! and oh so cold... brrr.... autumn came and went and now it's a wet winters day.... not nice!  But at least it's Saturday and we can stay home.

Earth Day

It's Earth Day today and of course Google are in on it too!

So don't forget to do your bit today towards saving our planet.

Some more to show you

On Saturday my friend Theresa came over to scrap... she did wonders... two doubles half finished and two singles completed.  In all that time I barely managed to do 3 singles - the last two took about 1/2 an hour but the first one.... boy did I battle to do it!  And the reason being.... I didn't have a sketch, a plan or nothing!  It was my layout for the spring challenge at Scraptivity...

We had to use a "recipe" to do the layout and once I was finished I was very chuffed with it... just took forever to put together... hehehe

This is what we had to do.... scrap using SPRING:

For the "S", please use either " Shimmery Paint " or "stamping":
For the "P", please use a "printers tray" or "pink":
For the "R", please use "red" or "rub-ons":
For the "I", please use "ink" or "inchies":
For the "N", please use nine of something. It can be anything! But, certainly nine beads could be easy to include.
Finally, for the "G", please use "glitter" or "gaffer tape". And, if those are not in your stash, and you're unable to purchase any of the tremendous kits shown here in time, you may use "green":

So I used stamping, pink, rub-ons, ink, nine circles and green.... quite please with the results.

I then made these two pages:

And just after Theresa left, I managed to do another layout...

So four more done of my 2008 year layouts.... and I'm ahead of schedule again on my layout-a-day goal... good feeling all round.

Last week's layouts

My study didn't get finished over the Easter Weekend... no surprises there I guess... and so I still scrapped in the dining-room for all of last week... here is what I managed to do....

This layout below is the one for my spring challenge entry over at Scraptivity

The little girl in this layout (my niece) is now TWO... and tooooooo sweet too.

So as I said, it was just a few layouts... hehehe... 13 done in one week.... so grateful for school holidays when I can scrap all day just about!

I didn't scrap this weekend at all... rather sat around with my nose in a book or two.  Keith is just about finished in my study now.... today I have to clear the spare room as my brother is coming to stay for the week and needs the bed!  So it will still be pretty much "make-do", but we are getting there!

Scrapper in the Spotlight

That's ME!!!! yip I promised you more exciting news last week from Paper Lane....

Well part of the "prize" that I won for their gallery competition was being made "Scrapper in the Spotlight" for the month of April.  You can read all about me (as if you don't know me already!) right HERE!

Dining-room scrapping

For the whole of the Easter weekend my scrap-room has been out of commission.... and it looks like it will be for the next week still too !(  But I reckon the upside of it is.... it's being lovingly painted by hubby.... thanks!  Also the ceiling cornice has been fixed so hopefully it will keep the birds/flies/dust out as well!

So the whole jist of this post is that now I'm scrapping in the dining-room with only some of my stuff....  the rest is all packed into the spare bedroom and now and then I scrounge out something that I need.  But even with this "hardship" I still managed to scrap lots of the weekend... and here is what I produced.

Oh and one more that I can't show you yet as it's for my design team submission.

That was the last of my planned layouts from a few months back, so last night I planned the next 20 (the last one above was one of those).  Now I'm happy to note that I'm once again ahead of schedule on my layout-a-day goal... whoo whoo... it's so nice to get a batch of scrapping done.

Summer Challenge

I decided to partake in the summer challenge at In2Crafts....( remember I won the Christmas Challenge there in January?).  I made the layout for it...

and then just because I could (hehehe) I made another one...

If you click here you can see the pages of the mini-album that I made for this layout too.  This second layout is also one of the ISE layouts from 2008 that I've now done.  I didn't have all the kit stuff but made it as near to the layout as I remembered (or could see from the photo of the layout I had!).

And now as of the end of March, I am 4 layouts BEHIND :( in my layout-a-day goal.... BUT I'm sure in the next while I'll get ahead of myself again... so at this stage I'm not tooooooo worried.
