Sketches: Creatively Yours... layout 17 & 18

My term at Sketches: Creatively Yours has come to an end.... and as a bonus there are two layouts to show you this week:

The other bit of news is that Sketches: Creatively Yours is taking a bit of a break.... Ali needs to spend some time sorting out family and other commitments so is taking 6 months off... but she will be back in March with a new design team call.

With my laptop going down last week I didn't get to update my sketch design team work for Sketches: Creatively Yours.... apologies to Ali for the slipup.  So as a bonus... here is two week's worth of layouts for you to peruse!

This is my last layout for the month of August based on Sketches: Creatively Yours... if you remember last week's layout then you will see that this one is a match.... though I scrapped the two pages as two separate singles I will be filing them next to each other in my album... and because they are photos taken on the same day with the same people, I decided to coordinate the colours... and so now I have a matching pair!

Scrap-a-tale Challenge - August

This month's challenge at Scrap-A-Tale is to create five cards.... we'll for me who doesn't often create cards unless it's in a pinch, this one was a great challenge.  Here's what I managed to put together:

1. A boy's birthday card (this is a scraplift of one of Tracy's cards)

2. A pretty birthday card

3. A Thank you card

4. A small square birthday card (based on this week's card sketch at Sketches:CreativelyYours)

5. A teenager's birthday card

and this one got it's inside decorated too....

Now at least I have some cards in my stash waiting to be used... think I might just start making a few more of these in the future!

This month's first sketch is up... and wow the designers have pulled out all the stops... especially the guest designer for July... Janis... I simply love her layout.... but you will have to read the blog to see it.

Another week, another sketch and another layout completed.... this one I did very simply (just like a lot of my other layouts) and it was 1-2-3 done!

As to why the photos look out of focus and skew... who knows??? it's how it scanned!

In celebration of all things "World Cup".  The background was all put together from scraps of cardstock and I cut the soccerball out of black cardstock.  The 2010 is actually ribbon that I bought which might end up appearing on a few more layouts of the world cup.

I turned the sketch on it's side to accommodate my portrait photos.  For embellishement I used some school stuff from free paper received in the Australian Scrapbook Memories magazine from a few years back.
