Nuts About Sketches - Week 146

It's the last day of January... and this month there were 5 Mondays so 5 sketches from Nuts about Sketches... wow!!  Here is today's one:

My layout came together pretty quickly for this sketch.... the circle led me to photos from a soccer birthday party

It's a rather busy page but I love how I managed to tie it all together for a funfilled one.  Be sure to check out the rest of the team's layouts... they are very varied and lead to lots of inspiration.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 145

Another week has past already... January is nearly finished... first month of the new year... wow!!!  Here is this week's sketch from Nuts About Sketches....

When I saw all the lovely photos needed for this I was soooooooo happy.... and for I love layouts with lots of pics.... and so this one was lots of fun to put together....

I used some leftovers from last year's Sassafrass layout from Convention for this page... the monsters paper really tied well in to the theme..... also, I took these pics with my cell phone and I'm so impressed with how well they printed out... not bad hey!

Nuts About Sketches - Week 144

Wow halfway through January already.... the weeks just fly past.  Here is this week's super sketch from Nuts About Sketches:

My layout came together in 1-2-3 and is fairly simple.... much like all my others!

First day of Grae 4

It was "Back to School" today for Aaron.... Grade 4.

He was super-excited this morning to be going to school and to meet his new teacher... Miss Le Grange.... who is a brand new teach too... first teaching post.

Only about 4 kids from his class last year are in his class this year... a right royal shuffle around... but I think it will be good for study purposes.

This afternoon I had to cover his books in plastic... all 26 of them!  By the end of the afternoon I was finished.... back ache and tired!  The last three years we've got the books in dribs and drabs and then it doesn't feel nearly so bad.... much more manageable!

So here is to an exciting year with lots of hard work ahead.... hope it all goes well.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 142

The first sketch for 2011 is up at Nuts About Sketches.....

My layout is a rare one .... no photos of people!

As we needed to use a "really long title" I went hunting for some inspiration.... kept thinking about the poem "ducks a-dabbling, up tails all" from Wind in the Willows.... but as none of these ducks were "up tails all" I used a different verse.... hehehe.... love how it all turned out.

Productive first weekend scrapping

I spent a lot of this first weekend of 2011 scrapping.... I had over 600 photos printed on Friday and so now have a whole lot of scrapping planned for this year.  The first lot of layouts were all "premade" ones... so 1-2-3 and they were done.

This layout I made at a scrap day at Scraptifity, where we made a whole album using the same range.... as I don't really scrap like that I thought I'd use the layouts as I get photos to match.  The flowers were from the kit received at the 2008 convention, which is what this layout  is about.

This layout was one that we made at the convention in 2006... it's a Becky Higgins one.... It had sat around for so long that unfortunately the paper got a bit faded in the sun.... but I decided to do it anyway.

 

The next group of layouts I made at the Mega Crop Day in May 2010... needed to find lots of pics to match.... which I managed to do :)

This last layout from was the Scrapbook Convention of 2009... I always said that it was toooo 3D for my liking but after doing the Prima layout last year and loving it, I decided what the heck and found photos to finish this one off... loved how it finally turned out.

Seven double pages in one weekend.... wow!  Really got the year off to a good start.  I also managed to do a single page for my Nuts About Sketch design team committment.... so that post is coming next.
