Finished pages

I finally managed to finish a few of my unfinished pages this weekend... yay!!! So be aware that there might be an overload of pics here... hehe.

These are all classes or notes from the lovely and talented Jowilna.... I really enjoy learning her techniques yet being able to put my own spin on the pages.

I hope to be able to finish a few more pages this weekend too... then I will be all caught up on  my backlog and can get creating with the new planned pages I have waiting.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch #476

I hope you have had a good Easter... it's been a quiet one for us, though I have managed to do a ton of scrapping... so nice to accomplish stuff.

Today's reveal is up on the blog and I made this layout a while back for it.... in my last marathon scrapping!

There is a whole host of layouts to see on the blog.

Some more catching up

I have been on a mission the past few weeks on updating my catalog system of layouts scrapped, blogged and pinned... and low and behold I found a few that I haven't blogged about... so here they are to drool over:

Layouts either from notes or classes by Jowilna

A set of notes from the Scissor Sisters

The kit that I got on the scrapping cruise

I am still working through all my layouts so there might still be a few more posts like this one to come. But today I am actually on a mission to finish the pile on my desk that need titles/journalling added.

A catchup post of some finished layouts

I've managed this weekend to put some finishing touches onto a few pages, so now is the perfect time to show them as well...

First up is a page that I made for Scrapbook n Things a few years back as part of a kit to sell. Well when I got the page back it had photos on that I had already scrapped, so I just changed the photos and there you go... a whole new layout... perfect title too as this was truly an adventure!

Next up are layouts that I've made in classes with Jowilna... all they needed was either photos, or a title... just finishing really. Well I finally managed to get to that too

This next page was from the Helderfontein scrapping weekend last year.... it sat around for ages needing to be finished...

These next two pages are from my Mom's Antartica trip with my brother in 2013... yip still trying to finish those pages. They are both based on notes from Michelle van Wyk

Yet another Michelle van Wyk set of notes... this one hung around for ages waiting for the template to do the big circle cog but I finally found a pattern paper wheel that I used instead.

Phew quite a few layouts finally completed (some late last year but never actually blogged before). I still have a pile that either need titles added, journalling to finish or photos to be added. I guess I will need another few long weekend to catch up some more.

Easter scrapping

It is soooooooooooo nice to have a long weekend and to be able to catch up a bit with myself and also to catch up on my scrapping. Yesterday I also did a full day class with Jowilna... lovely relaxed day and we created two double pages.

The best part for me.... was coming home, finding photos and FINISHING the pages... yes you read correctly... I finished both pages on the same day as the class... not to often I actually do that.

Though I do like the paper we used, at first glance they were not really my colour choices but I must say that now that they are done I rather like them. It is nice to use other papers and see what you can do with them, than just sticking with the same old ones you always like.

Now it's time to do a whole bunch more scrapping.

Scrapbook Challenges - Flashback Friday Sketch 237

It's Good Friday... an awesome day in the Christian calendar... we had a good message today, all about Jesus's words on the the cross "Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands". Powerful words with lots of truths in it. I can trust my Father in heaven with every unseen thing and its solution. His hands are big enough to handle all my problems. WOW!

Today has also been a good day in that I managed to do some scrapping as well... nice to be creative. And to top it off, we also have a sketch reveal today... one of the layouts I did last week.

There are lots more great ideas with this sketch on the blog.... go take a look see.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch #475

Talk about blog overload... hehehe... third one for today... yip Monday's seem to be the busy day for me to blog... but hey, at least i get to showcase my scrapping and catchup a little on life.

This is today's sketch reveal... I did a very simple take on the sketch and added in a few ink splats to make it fun... used cut-outs from leftover kitchen paper and a few stickers.

There is a feast of layouts today too, so go check out the blog.

Scrapbook Challenges - Flashback Friday #222

It's been so nice to have a lovely long weekend and I managed to fill it with lots of scrapping... some just for me (playing catchup) and some for upcoming DT commitments. Also managed to do the usual weekend stuff like washing, church and visiting with my special friends. Don't fall off your chair but I even did some baking today! Yip busy productive weekend.

It's been so productive, that I even missed out on blogging on Friday for the lastest Flashback Friday sketch... here is what I made

I really enjoyed doing this page... used only one sheet of pattern paper, a stencil, some flowers, brads and stitching... effective use of stash to create a pretty page.

Check out the blog for a few more ideas.

ScrapMixers - Challenge #4

There is a new challenge up on the ScrapMixers blog... all about using stencils. Well I had fun creating my layout for this challenge... all thanks again to inspiration from Jowilna

I used a circle stencil in various ways.... applied ink directly to the background in various places, Then I applied some texture paste over some of the circles. Once is was all dry, I used blue and orange watercolour paints and painted a few more circles with the stencil. I also used a stencil to make the heart and the cutout circle on the page.

The little blue bunny I found on the internet and printed onto some pre-coloured paper, then just cut it out.

So come and play along on the blog with your stencils too.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch #474

Another Monday... Aaron finished his exams last week and now has a quite week of school before we head for the holidays. Loving the rain that has fallen last week and today... but don't really enjoy driving in it. At least we are warm and dry at home and VERY thankful for every drop of rain that falls.

This is a cute page about some flowers Aaron picked for me one day last year.... a sweet gesture from my special boy.

Scrapbook Challenges - Flashback Friday #197

Friday has come and gone and the weekend over too, but I can still show you the page that I did for Friday's challenge... a flashback Friday sketch... love these, as they give me the opportunity to do some of the early sketches I never did or else revisit some old favs... well this is a new one for me and I loved it.

I put my own spin on this sketch by converting the banner into a spray of flowers... I hauled out my new die for quilling spiral flowers and made a whole bunch... I think there are over 30 in that small space.

The paper I used was part of a pack by Couture Creations that I won last year for guessing that they are the sponser of the upcoming secret event. I can't say that I was over the moon when I saw the paper as it is soooooooooooo far from what I normally use (having a boy and all!) but I must say that this page grew on me and I loved using all the bits to make a pretty page.

ScrapMixers - Challenge 3

There is a new challenge up on the Scrap Mixers blog... it's all about using your stash of ribbons. Well I found a pretty layout from Sharon Coetzer (which she had designed for Scrapbook n Things a few years back) and used some gorgeous photos of my niece Veronica and her family that they had done last year.

For my ribbons, I raided my ribbon box for some different colours and used them through the middle of the page.... picking up the colours from the photos as well as the paper. I then finished my page with a few stickers.

Check out the blog for some more ribbon ideas.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch #473

This past weekend, Aaron got his braces fitted... it's been pretty rough but hopefully in the long run it will be worth the pain and suffering. I am soooooooo glad I never had braces as a child.

Remember a few weeks back when we did the Sketch Crew Crush on Kate and it was about using graphic patterns, well I seemed to be hooked on this again as they seemed to creep into all my pages I designed for this month.... not that I am complaining as I get to use up some of my vast stash!

Check out the blog for some more ideas with this sketch.

Scrapbook Challenges - Flashback Friday #106

Friday has come and gone and the weekend is virtually over too, but I can still show you the page that I did for Friday's challenge... a flashback Friday sketch... love these, as they give me the opportunity to do some of the early sketches I never did or else revisit some old favs... well today is a new one for me and I loved it.

For this page I pulled out some sewing themed papers as it is all about me making the new curtains for Aaron's bedroom and having the sewing machine needle break off in my finger.... ouch. I can still feel that pain when I think about it... not nice!

Check out the blog for a few more ideas with this sketch.

Scrapbook Challenges - March Pattern Challenge

The new team was announced yesterday and it's official that I am on the team again.... so I happened to spend this past weekend creating up a storm of DT layouts for this month.... was sooooooooo good to scrap lots and lots.

I managed to do 8 layouts this weekend. Last week I was doing a trip down memory lane reading my blog from the start... wow back in 2008 I scrapped a heck of a lot... one weekend I had managed to do 15 layouts! Don't know if I will get back to being that productive any time soon, but this past weekend was one step in the right direction.

For my layout for this challenge, I turned to Jowilna Nolte for inspiration was again. I also pulled out my stash of LadyPatternPaper and had a ball making chevrons on the background... simple yet effective.

So head to the blog and see some more inspiration.
