I am sharing a layout full of wonderful techniques today just for a little inspiration.
I was inspired by Jowilna's original design for my page and of course tweaked it to suit.
I used the Indigo Skies Collection for my page. First up is "Washed Out" which I cut in half for across the middle of the layout. Then I added a strip of "Shibori" below this. Afterwards I added a few word and washi strips from the "Breeze" paper. Now the fun starts....
I applied some blue Nuvo Mousse through Jowilna's Hurricane stencil... really love this stencil for it's effective and rough circles. I stamped stitching & splats around my layout in grey and then added a few blue & orange bling. Lastly was the two glittered stars, some buttons and my title which I just made on the pc.
Hope this has inspired you to again play with your stash whilst scrapping. I made this layout especially for ScrapPlezier. You can see lots of inspiration each week on the blog.

Off The Rails - Aug Tribe Tutorial
We are nearing the end of the month and it's super busy at work and here at home with all my DT deadlines coming up again. Thankfully I am making time to get things done.
Just on a side note, I am soooooooooo very thankful for water and the luxury of indoor plumbing and being able to have a bath. On Monday a power station in Jhb exploded and it supplied power to the water pumpstation for the whole of the West Rand. We were without water for about 24 hours. It came on at about 4:30 this morning.
Okay, back to the business of the day... I have this layout on the OTR blog and am sharing with you there a whole host of ideas. A big shout out to Jowilna for the inspiration of this page which is based on one she designed.
We are playing with this moodboard all month long.. the theme is Your Tribe.
Go check it out on the blog.

Sketch N Scrap - card #128
I am showcasing my card today on facebook for Sketch N Scrap. I made this card for a work colleague who's birthday was at the beginning of August.
For my card I used papers that were on my desk from a previous layout and added some fun punch and diecut flowers. The ruler is from the back of the arrow paper... Nice to be able to use both sides of a pattern paper. The sentiment is a new die that I just bought...so happy to be able to finally use it.
Here is the fun sketch I used

Sketch N Scrap - Sketch 158
Today is my day to show off for Sketch N Scrap
I used a leftover piece of cardstock to which I had applied Stazon Glass Glaze for a previous layout.... I cut it into a tag and used it to add interest to my page. The papers are all from various Kaisercraft collections and then I also added a few stickers too.
I used this gorgeous sketch for my layout:

Let's Scrap - 15 Aug reveal
Here is my second layout for the mid-month reveal... this time for Let's Scrap Sketches.
I turned to Kaisercraft papers for my layout and used a few leftovers along with a lovely woodgrain piece for my layout. My title is from a Kerri Bradford cutfile that I've wanted to use for a while. I added some stencilling and stitching detail just for a little bit of embellishment, otherwise kept the layout fairly simple.
Be sure to check out the blog for loads more inspiration.

Lets Get Sketchy - Aug 15 Reveal
It's mid-month and time for some more sketch and layout reveals. First up today is this layout:
I went with a monochromatic theme to match the chocolate bears we were eating... remember caramelo bears?... they were a childhood fav of mine so when we spied them in the shop I just had to treat Aaron and I to one.... yummy.
This is the very versatile sketch we got to work with:
Come play along on the blog and join in the fun.
I am also entering this layout in the Kraft+ August challenge - theme is terracotta. I feel that the different browns I used on my page definitely remind me of shades of terracotta (and chocolate!).

ScrapPlezier - Run in the rain
We've had a chilly weekend and that meant I hibernated in my scraproom and got busy. Here's one of my layouts I created especially for ScrapPlezier:
I used some of the newish LA Paper Teen Boy range of paper for my layout... I like the grungy blue/green combo and it worked well with the feel of these photos.
This layout is based on a fairly old Jowilna original design which I've wanted to do for quiet some time, just a subtle few twists of my own.
The blue piece on the right handside page was created by using an embossing folder as a stamp. I inked it up with Versamark ink then applied white pearl embossing powder and heat embossed it. Once it was cool, I applied Distress Oxide in Cracked Pistatio and Peakcock Feathers all over the paper. Then cut to size and adhered it to my page.
I treated myself this last week to a trip to Herbett Evans for their annual sale... I was given a voucher from work to spend there. One of the items I bought was a new stamp set from Chiswick... well I used it today on this page... the flag banner strip at the top. These are stamped onto leftover inked paper and stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne.
Across the whole page I stamped splatter drops in a very subtle shade of lightning black. My inkpad is not very wet so doesn't apply much ink, but gave me the effect I wanted.
I also raided my stash of stickers and found a few blue/green ones that worked with the theme of my page. My title is also made up of letter stickers from three different ranges. This layout is truly a mix and match page.
Hope I've inspired you to try different things on your layouts. Please check out more inspiration over on the ScrapPlezier blog too.

ScrapPlezier - Aug moodboard
It's been a tough month of very little scrapping and now I need to get cracking... here's my first layout I've made in August, just in time for this lovely moodboard reveal
I went with the more "green and pink" combo than "olive and rose" but it still follows the basic principle of the moodboard. Also the woodland feel of this moodboard led me to scrap photos of Wyndford. Where will this moodboard take you?

Stick It Down - Aug Double
We've just had the most amazing weekend out in the bush at Pilansberg. We saw lots of wildlife, including elephants, lions and multiple sightings of rhino. It was a lovely relaxing time. I haven't yet managed to get to scrap this month, but did manage to squeeze this layout in early last week.
I used an aeroplane stamp I have and stamped it with Versafine Clair... such lovely stamping ink. I also found the letters for my title but they were the wrong colour so I inked and embossed them with red but not so that the pattern on the letters would disappear, just enhance the look.
This is the great sketch we are playing with this month:

Let's Scrap - 1 Aug reveal
Here is my second layout for today.
I played a bit with my layout and changed plans along the way. I started with stamping a stencil across two white background cardstocks but then found it was a bit too busy, so I cut it into strips and used it to matt my pics instead. For my title I used only chipboard letters and white sticker letters. The chipboard I covered with gold foil flakes to highlight the gold bell. I wanted to do a bit of paper piecing on my layout tooo and found a cute little owl ringing a bell but ran out of time to make him, so simplified the idea and went with a graduate owl instead.

Lets Get Sketchy - Aug 1 Reveal
It's a new month and that means new reveals are up... here's my first one for today:
I took a little liberty with the sketch and decided to replace the strips down the right side with some stencilling. I used a Jowilna original design stencil and applied a mix of maroon stazon glass glaze with gloss texture paste. I then added some pen stitching down the piece on the left of the page and also to my title which I cut on my Silhouette.
