Quilled pots of flowers

People might think I'm a little crazy in my hobby of quilling, but I find it truly relaxing and it gives me something to do whilst sitting watching tv. I decided to make a few little goodies for a craft market at Aaron's school in May (just in time for Mother's Day).

I have been following a quilling lady on youtube, Kelly's Quilling and have been inspired to make some flowerpots. These are all my own design though inspired by her.

Each of these little flower pots are for sale at R50 each (excluding postage/courier).

Let's get Sketchy - 15 April reveal

So days life just seems to run away with me. I never got to post this one yesterday, but today still works.

I love sketches that use the "sunburst" effect, just find it hard to do when only working with scraps... yes all my papers were from leftovers. It's sooooooo nice to be able to use up some bits and pieces, even if it is a cut and paste job with a squeeze to get it to work.... hehehe.

My title is from a PaperIssues cutfile which I cut out from distress colorcore cardstock and then sanded the edges to show a bit of the lighter shade.

ScrapPlezier - Splash

I have a new layout to share today.

I used paper from three different Kaisercraft ranges on this page as the colours worked so well together.
The orange is from Hippy Girl Collection: Luna
The navy blue is from Rewind Collection:Playlist
The waves and the splashes are from Kaisercraft Offshore collection, the Breaker and Current papers.

I also used a cutfile from The Cut Shoppe for my title which I backed with bits and pieces from the above ranges plus a scrap of orange from my stash.

The inspiration for my page is from this month's moodboard... using blue and the water droplets.

Let's Scrap Sketches - 15 April reveal

It's time for another new sketch and here is my layout:

I had ample photos to create this page and could quite easily have done the double, but as I have already planned my album I knew that I needed to do a single page with these photos, so I just condensed the sketch and created my layout.

My background is an old Prima travel range and then I added some leftover stickers from Simple Stories travel range. I used the song "down town" as my inspiration for my title and created my own cutfule for it. Once I had cut it out I used the inside bits of my letters and coloured them with distress oxides before adding them back into the border. I then just added some white letter stickers for the Niagara part of the title.

This is the great sketch we worked from (I might very well use it again for a layout with loads of pics).

ScrapPlezier - April moodboard

A new moodboard is up for this month and here is my layout:

I love blue so this was an easy moodboard to start with. I was inspired by the tables as well as the raindrops on the leaves in the moodboard and so chose a photo of the rain falling outside our lounge window. I used two Kaisercraft papers on my page from two very old ranges. I chose to mix and match as the colours went with the moodboard and my photo. The cloud paper especially went with the theme of rain too. So being inspired by a moodboard is not just based on colour but also the feeling it inspires.

I added some distress oxide blue demin reinker to a little gloss texture past and then used a stencil to make the circles down the side.... I wanted them fairly see-through to mimic the rain. I also added a stamp of splatters in grey and then cut my title to round off the layout.

Stick It Down - April Double Page

Phew it's been another crazy week with not too much scrapping happening... except creating pages for DT commitments and screeching in before deadlines! Sure hope I can catch up and get ahead before month end.

This month's double page is up on the blog and here's mine:

I used some very old Fancy Pants star paper for my triangles... I've been hording this piece of paper for ages and ages and decided it was perfect for this page. I added a few strips of washi tape (the blue one has little yellow fleur de lis on is which always makes me think of scouts). I then diecut a few stars and used my Curio to cut out my title.

Let's Scrap Sketches - 1 April reveal

Another reveal for today...

 I decided to only scrap a single page for this sketch... so I used the left side of the sketch and rotated it 90 degrees to better suit my photos.

I used some old birthday themed papers from my stash and cut some circles and triangle to make my own bunch of balloons... just a little black thread and some doodling to bring them to life. Also added a few birthday presents to add to the layout.

Let's Get Sketchy - 1 April reveal

Hope you have had a blessed Easter weekend. I haven't been nearly as creative as I would have hoped... it's been rather crazy since I got back from Wyndford. I did manage to scrap this layout on Friday quickly so that my DT commitment would be done.

For my layout I decided to try something "new".... I used a stencil and three different blue inks to do a pattern on my background. I then added three strips of washi tape and two cut files... a very simple yet effective layout.
