Nuts About Sketches - Week 163

Wow May has come and gone.... sooooooooo fast.... and guess what... I didn't complete a single page this month :(  Hopefully June will be a much better month for scrapping for me.

I made myy layout for this sketch in April already so it has been a while since I did it.  I used a chipboard train on it for embellishment which I coloured-in in koki.... not the prettiest train but it does the job!

This sketch is super versatile and fits lots of themes.... you can see lots of variety on the blog this week.

Yet another week has passed while we were all busy.... and even Monday has come and gone..... can we please slow time down just a tad?  While you think on that, here is this week's sketch from Nuts About Sketches

For my layout I turned the sketch by 90 degrees and then went very South African in colours to keep with the theme in the photo.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 160

I tried very hard last night to post this sketch but blogger was misbehaving!  So we try again today for this week's Nuts About Sketches sketch....

For my layout I used photos from our holiday in December... this is a place we had tea at on the 26th of December...hence the Christmas themed paper too.

Scrapkits part 2

I spent most of last week doing some more layouts by Scrapkits.... absolutely love that it's all planned out for me and all I need to do is cut and paste!  Perfect for doing in the evenings while watching tv.  I did do a bit of shrinking by turning some of the doubles into singles!  So prepare for a layout heavy post!

 

A lot of these pages have mini books on them too, or tags or pockets... so lots and lots of photos were scrapped!  Slowly but surely I have made some inroads into my layout a day goal, though I am still horribly behind target.  I did manage to scrap 35 layouts in April though!!!

I used a piece of preprinted paper for my title block and so worked from there for the colours... which all worked so well with my photos too.... totally unplanned!  I also added two metal car charms just for a bit of added interest.

Nuts About Sketches - Birthday Celebration 5

Here is our fifth sketch for this week's celebration of Nuts About Sketches third birthday.

The creation of this layout has a bit of a story to it..... I was going through my Google Reader and catching up on the 1000+ posts when I saw a layout that someone had created by turning a lattice printed paper into a lattice on her page.... she had literally cut out the lattice.  (unfortunately I can't remember where I saw it as I didn't save the link).

My first thought was "you're crazy" but then I couldn't stop thinking about it, so when it came time to do this page, I picked up a piece of paper that I had been battling to use, cut out all the dark squares and turned it into my "rails" for a great background.... what you think... crazy hey!!
