With this sketch we come to the end of Scrapbook Challenges Sizzlin Summer for 2016... I am sooooooooo chuffed that I made a layout for each and every sketch this month... count them... there are 20! I sure made a huge dent in my 2014 album.

You know the week has been busy when you don't get to blog each day and end up playing catchup... hehe. Yip that's been my week. But I can also say that it's been a good one... got tons done and even managed to do a bit of scrapping.

For this page I tried something a little different... I tried to make a "snowy" feel by inking, embossing and using embossing paste through my stensil... all in various shades of white.... It does look a little messy but actually the effect came out pretty good.I then added a few blue lines to some of the bubbles to try and give a bit more definition.

My second post for today....

This page was fun to make... I found some old chipboard puzzle pieces and traced around them to make a photo matt and the "tags" at the bottom. The little pieces are actual puzzle pieces that I had in my stash. This is a really simple way to enhance the photo theme.

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew exactly which photo I wanted to scrap... this page came together so quickly then... I think the hardest thing for me was not to get the orientation of my title right. I eventually flipped the page and then it all worked.

Ok so my week sort of caught up with me and I never got to post my layout yesterday.... so here it is:

Yes the sketch is all about circles, and normally I would have done circles, but when it came time to do the layouts I decided I didn't want to cut my big photo. So instead, I made squares and corner rounded them all. Same sketch just a different take on it.

This page was another quick one... just some paper and then a stash of old stickers and chipboards.... not much to it but it conveys the message and preserves the memory. Not every page has to be an absolute masterpiece!

Wow this week past... yet also felt pretty long. Must have been the public holiday on Tuesday that just threw us a bit.At least it is now Friday and that means weekend and that means... more scrapping!

I had fun making this layout...started with making myself a template in word on trying to get my diamonds the right size.Printed this out and cut it apart then cut out bits of paper and played jigsaw puzzle to get it to work... of course by th etime I came to stick it down, it was different to how I planned... but hey, no mistakes in scrapbooking right?

Today four years ago my world got turned on it's head.... my Dad died. As much as I miss him, I am also thankful for how the last four years have turned out and the changes that his death brought. Most important is having Mom living 5 minutes away and us being able to do lots of Mom and Daughter things together.... like take trips to Wyndford.

Today's layout is about the room we stayed in on our trip in 2014.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sizzlin Summer 2016 - SS05

Well I know I said on my previous post that I was planning to scrap lots today.... seeing as it's Women's Day.... well I can safely say that hasn't happened... awh! I have managed though to finish a page I started on Saturday and I've done one single. Guess it's better than nothing. The reason I haven't scraped as much is I have also done 4 loads of washing and watched a Jeff Dunham movie with Aaron and Tavia (his girlfriend ..... shhh!!!)

 Ok so on to today's Sizzlin Summer layout...

On this layout I used an Add On from Play Make Scrap.... who I just recently found out are designed by a friend of mine... Tilla. Wow I am so thrilled with the pack I bought that I am sure using them up at a rate of knots... hope to get some more soon.

It's Friday... yippee! Today was Slipper Day in South Africa... a fund raiser on behalf of Reach for A Dream.... it was such fun wearing my slippers all day on behalf of a good cause... and also getting free coffee from Wimpy too.

But back to scrapping for now... here is today's page for the Sizzlin Summer:

I replaced the big photo with four smaller ones mounted together... such a great way to include more than one photo on a page, yet not deviating from the sketch too much.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sizzlin Summer 2016 - SS02

Today was a public holiday for voting... well I decided to get up bright and early and go vote as soon after the polls opened... good decision but it seemed like lots of other people had the same thought, as I had to stand in the queue for 90 minutes. Well at least it was done. Then I repeated the whole thing all over again as I had to take Mom to vote too.... but thankfully as she is over 60 we could jump to the front of the queue... in and out in about 15 minutes.

 So then I spent the rest of my day in my scraproom doing what I love... creating more layout. Got another 4 done today....so good to get through them quickly... feels nice to know that I am slowly making headway in the pile of photos that I have to scrap.

I've taken part in this great month of fun since 2012... some years I did only a few layouts and some I missed totally but this year I plan to do them all... so be prepared for an overload of scrapping.

Being on holiday for the last two weeks with not much going on has let me spend loads of time in my scrap room catching up on some much needed scrap therapy.  So feast your eyes on the layouts that I've managed to complete:
