Pixel Scrapper Summer Layout Madness

I am taking quite a plunge into digi scrapping... I spent part of this month organising my digit stash, and even adding to it! I think I have more digi stash than I ever had in the paper stash.

Anyways I took part in the Pixel Scrapper Summer Layout Madness during July. I only thought I'd do about 5 layouts and ended up doing 9. Super thrilled with myself.

I have been playing with the app PixelLab to do a lot of these pages... it's great to be able to scrap on the go so to speak. Hope to keep at it and do lots more in the coming months.

Simply Project Life - Christmas in July

This group on facebook is hosted daily challenges in July to celebrate Christmas. I decided to dive in an take part. Instead of the usual 12x12 pages, this time I decided that I would make 6x8 size pages for these challenges and possibly print them into a mini-album (or not!).. they are just fun to do. Here's what I've managed to do:

UnstampaBellas: July2019

Here is my project for this month's theme at UnstampaBelles:

This month's challenge is: Stunning Stencil Play
The twist to the challenge is: It Pays to Spray

I used two different stencils to create my background... the sun rays one I had to flip to make a full half-circle of the sun going down. Then I used a wood grain stencil for the grass. My rhino I cut out on my Curio machine and then spent a few evenings making lots and lots of little coils to stick all over him.

Sketch n Scrap - July monthly challenge

My twist on this challenge is to use numbers.... I used three oversized number stickers on my card along with a sticker ribbon strip and sentiment. Also added 3 blings for fun.

IQCG - July2019 - monochromatic

For my monochromatic colour, I picked shades of yellow and decided to do a whole mason jar of little daisies. This is an idea that's been rattling around in my brain for a while so was nice to have an excuse to make it.

Wrap up of my 100 days project

So the 100 days has come to an end... awwww! I thoroughly enjoyed making lots of creative crafts over the last few months and sharing them every day on Instagram... the bug has bitten that I might just carry on (hehehe). Anyway's here's the last two days of what I shared:

I am trying to do the Summer Layout Madness challenges at Pixel Scrapper and this is one I made for their "Roll the Dice" challenge:

I have made good progress with my knitting... finished all 403 rows of the pattern but have found that the poncho is not quite long enough so have to still do another 30cm or so... will just keep going.

Week 14 of my 100 days

This past week has been a hodge podge of projects... I've been working on all sorts of things inbetween trying to organise Aaron's learners licence (that didn't pan out but will try again) and knitting my poncho... it's a nice long blanket at the moment! Anyway, here's what I shared:

So the digi bug is biting quite hard at the moment... inbetween these I still have normal DT commitments to do, managed to get two pages made this weekend for my August commitments. However I am so keen to learn more digi stuff that I've taken the plunge to partake in a few challenges this month... at The Digital Press and Pixel Scrapper... so hopefully I can get them done and uploaded in time and share them here on my blog too in the coming weeks.

There are now just two days to go on this 100 day project and I've still got sooooooooooooo many crafts on the go I might just keep at it... hehe.

Sketch n Scrap - July 1st sketch

I've been hanging on to these pics for a while and when I saw this month's sketch I just knew they would work:

This is the sketch that I worked from:

I chose the predominately red papers for the patriotic Canadian theme. Also used a few stickers that Keith bought me on his last trip to Canada. Don't know when else I would use them... hehe.

Oh and how appropriate is this Canada theme page with it having been Canada Day yesterday?

Let's Scrap Sketches - 1 July

The  cold snap arrived this morning... brrr. Winter hasn't really arrived yet and already we are in July. This is about the coldest it's been so far and the max is still 15 deg C. This sure is a contrast to the photo below which was taken in summer a few years back when it hit 38!!

I only had two photos and so instead of working off either the left or right of the sketch I went with the middle this time and just condensed the whole thing to a single page.

Stick It Down - Double layout - July 2019

It's a new month and that means lots to share,starting with this layout for today:

This is the fabulous sketch we worked with.

As you can see I went with the bubbles but did a mixed media type page. I started with some embossing paste through a stencil all the way around the edge of my paper. Once dry I applied three shades of All Purpose Ink and lots of water to make it flow. I then let this dry naturally.... ended up with quite crinkly paper but managed to sort of flatten it. The rest of my page is washi tape, photos and stickers. So lots of effort to start and then a mad dash to the finish...with lots of dithering in between hehe.

Week 13 of my 100 days

This past week I decided to concentrate on some of my other hobbies besides scrapping and quilling. I got caught up on my DT work so felt that it was time to focus on stuff that had been a little neglected too.

So my first thought was to tackle a little bit of knitting.... I scoured the internet for some free patterns, found some wool in my cupboard and then decided I needed a few extra colours, so a trip to the shops was planned. I bought four balls of wool and came home and started playing.

Of course with knitting you supposed to make a square to test your tension, well I didn't I just made a square and then a matching one and turned them into some fingerless gloves:

Day 85

Now that I decided on my stitches and needles I started with the project that I actually bought the wool for... I'm making a poncho. So this was how far I had gotten by Tuesday:

Then in amongst this all I also tried a little bit of sewing. I spent most of the weekend unpicking a jacket that was a but snug and then cut some panels to sew in. I started playing with this and then it sat for a few days:

Finally got time to finish my jacket:

Now that the sewing bug bit, I cut out a pajama top and bottoms and sewed it all together on Friday. This was an impulse purchase when I was buying the wool... just saw the bolt of blue material on the pile by the material table and had to buy it! Now I have lovely snuggly warm pjs for winter.

Day 89

So now that I've sewed and knitted I also decided to do some baking. Again sometimes baking is very successful  and at others not so much. This recipe for cinnamon biscuits was one I had found a while back but not yet tried, so on Saturday I made them. The mixture was too sticky so I had to add extra flour then as it still wasn't the right consistency to roll into balls, I just pressed it into a tray to bake and then cut squares. They taste ok but not something I will repeat.

Day 90

My final share for this week it just progress on my knitting project... I'm about halfway ...200 rows of a 400 row pattern. Will see how it looks when the pattern is done and maybe add a few more rows to make the poncho.

Day 91

And so that was my crafty week... lots of other crafts to share and love. There are only 9 days left of this 100 days... wonder what I will do once it's over?
