Google surprises
Today is Good Friday.... the best day on the Christian calendar I think.... as it reminds us of the sacrifice that Jesus made for each one of us. Salvation, Grace and Forgiveness.... absolute blessing.

A month of kits
Besides my normal scrapping and doing my design team layouts, I decided that April would be the month to catch up on my kits that I have..... so I started by finding photos and then printing some and 1-2-3 started tackling one kit after another over the last few weeks.... and here are the results:
These are all by Scrapkits.
On top of all of these, I also did a class at the Scrapping Studio and made this awesome page:
The page actually has an extra page (2 double-sided flaps) which goes in the middle.... so that it looks like this:
I still have a few more that I hope to tackle in the next week or so, so be ready for another long report back in a couple of weeks.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 157
Where did the week go? It's already Tuesday and the first week of the second term of school is behind us. In two sleeps Aaron has another week off school.... and I have a week off work.... all these lovely public holidays!
Today is also a milestone day in our family.... Keith (Daddy) is flying out to Canada tonight.... excited but anxious too.... it is his first trip back to Canada since his arrived in South Africa when he was 8.... and he is doing it all by himself. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for the next two weeks.
Right back to business.... here is this week's awesome sketch from Nuts About Sketches:
My layout came together quite easily for this one.... with a few minor changes in photo sizes...
I also managed to only use SCRAPS to make this layout.... plus I made a dent in my brad stash too.... 1-2-3 layout done!

Shoestring Scrapbooking - Design Team - Reveal 3
With the wonderful kit I received from Canica from Shoestring Scrapbooking I have been able to create off the page items as well as a series of cards. Well it wouldn't be scrapbooking if there wasn't a layout too. So this past weekend I created this single page.
Part of my kit included two envelopes. Well instead of using them as just plain envelopes for the cards I had created, I decided to use them on this page. So I created a little booklet for more photos.
And then because I did have soooooooooooo many photos, I created a flap inside the booklet too, so here is the back page.
When all is said and done, this single page has 25 photos on it! The photographic journey of a hornet dragging a spider to it's nest.
Remember, you can get this paper and lots more scrapbooking supplies from the Shoestring Scrapbooking online shop.

Shoestring Scrapbooking - Design Team - Reveal 2
Over the last week I made needed a few cards for various friends for their birthdays as well as my parents for their anniversary. So I turned to my kit from Shoestring Scrapbooking for inspiration and here are the results:
First up is a card for Aaron's teacher from last year who's birthday was in March.
This card I made for one of my friends whose birthday was in April.
This is the anniversary card I made for my parents.
So just from a few leftovers and with some careful cutting I made three unique cards. For this and other wonderful scrapbooking stash, check out the Shoestring Scrapbooking store.... and remember, there is a sale on this week!

Well school went back today... the start of the second term.... but we really only have 9 days and then it's 11 days off! Aaron's comment this morning was that it will be a very short term! hehe. No such luck!
Anyway, back to normal things.... here is this week's sketch from Nuts About Sketches.
I did a layout about a cupboard Papa made for Aaron to store his engines in.... nice and simple, yet effective.
The design team has really done a great job this week, so be sure to pay the blog a visit to see the stunning examples.
Also keep in mind that Nuts About Sketches will be celebrating it's 3rd birthday at the end of the month. There will be one sketch a day beginning on April 30th through May 6th. The will still be the regular Monday sketch in addition to another sketch :) You can also stand a chance to win a scrapbook kit on the 16th of May for when completing a birthday sketch. So book the dates and keep an eye on the blog.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 155
Did we just blink and it's another month and another Monday? Wow!!! Here is the first sketch for this month from Nuts About Sketches
I had fun doing my layout for this.... it was a ten pin bowling birthday party for one of Aaron's class mates, so I made my own pins and used them to decorate the page and for my journalling block.
