Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 333

I had such fun with this week's sketch.... just look at my page:

On our trip home from PE last year we stopped and saw the Big Pineapple in Bathurst... most interesting place to see. So I took the pineapple as inspiration for my background and created my own one by cutting lots and lots of hexagons, folding and inking them and then sticking them all over the background.  My journalling is just printed on white paper which I inked slightly and made leaves for the top. (Rather clever for an idea at 9:30 on a Sunday night, what!)

And here is the sketch... both in single and double format this week.

So now head to the blog and join in the fun.

Scrapbook 'n Things - all day class layouts

In January I did an all day class with my BFF Judi at Scrapbook n Things.  This was a great relaxing day with the aim of doing six double layouts.  Well on the day I did 3.5 layouts... did another 1.5 that evening and eventually finished the last one this week.  They even all have the photos and journalling on them and are ready to go into my albums.  Check these pages out:

These first three are from my 2012 album

These next three are from my 2013 album... yip I've already started scrapping this year's photos (hehehe)

The one of the bunnies is photos taken on the day they arrived... too cute and cuddly.  Now nearly six weeks later I'm ready to throttle these two... they keep escaping and then we spend half an hour chasing them to recapture them! urgh!!!!

There you have it.... six pages done from one kit of paper from the same range and they all look so totally different.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 254

Wow it's hard to believe that it's the last Monday in Feb and I've reached the end of another term with Nuts About Sketches (new term starts next week... so no missing out for me!).  I have loved all the sketches over the past six months... they are such fun to work with and make lovely layouts when put together.  Today's one is no exception for me:
This page is about the place that we stayed on our holiday in PE last year.

Just look at this awesome sketch:

So head over to the blog and see the great layouts for the team.

New blog decor

Looky looky.... I have a new blog background and header.

I saw fellow Sketch Crew member, Chanell post a new cover for her facebook and cheekily asked her if she could adapt it for me for my blog... and look at that... one stunning new header image made... and I love it!!!

and because I got myself such a fun header, I had to change my background and a few other colours too... brighten things up a bit.

So a huge big thank you to a fab friend for a great new makeover... wonder stuff that you can do with digi-scrapping!

Nuts About Sketches - Week 253

Phew... we had a very busy weekend and I ended up not scrapping at all.... not too often that that happens! Saturday morning Aaron had a birthday party to go to and in the afternoon/eve I was doing washing and also baking and making salads.  On Sunday we had all of Keith's family over for lunch... 9 of us!  Was really lovely to spend time with his aunts, uncles and cousin, but most importantly, his sister.

Well with no scrapping being done, I missed this week's deadline for Nuts About Sketches.... I managed to put my page together yesterday afternoon... so here it is anyway.

and of course the sketch
So check out the blog now and you can see what the rest of the team did this week.

Paper Mixing Bowl - February 2013

Remember that in 2013 our Paper Mixing Bowl challenges are now being posted on the 15th of the month.  Here is my layout for this month:

And the recipe card.... mmm yummy Red velvet cake

So I used the three colours and then also used quite a few of the utensils..
 - layered some papers
- trimming - I added flocking to my one tag and used parts of that tag to punch some flowers
- two is better than one - got two flowers and two tags
- got mail - used a postage stamp and also stamped a postmark (which also got flocked!)
- added a few flowers
- used 4 photos

I however didn't use the journalling criteria... but that is optional.

Hope that you like my page.... why not join in the challenge this month.  You can see the rest of the DT layouts on the blog.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 331

There was a bit of a delay in posting this week's reveal at Scrapbook Challenges... mainly due to a tornado going through Brynn's hometown I think!  Thankfully it missed her house.  But getting back on track, here is my layout:

and of course the sketch...

As you can see, there are doillies in the sketch.... but I used paper that was preprinted with stars and so just added in a few extra for effect.

Check out the blog to see more lovely layouts by the Sketch Crew.

While you're one the blog, also read this post to get to know me and my scrap buddy Theresa a little bit more.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 252

Wow my week is just flying past.... it's already Wednesday and I haven't done my DT posts... mainly because every day when I have wanted to post, we've had major lightning storms and I don't switch my pc on in the storm.  So now the sun is shining and I can post... happy days.

My layout for Nuts About Sketches this week is about our special pre-Christmas treat to see the musical fountains at Silverstar Casino.

Isn't this a great page... 14 photos and journalling! - went back to doing computer journalling for this one as there was just too much to say.

Happy creating... check out the blog for some more great layouts.

Mega Crop layouts

In December I decided that my project for 2013 is to get some of my unfinished projects finished.... so I have gone through all my past kits and planned around 57 pages to be done.... now they are sitting in another box just waiting for the right moment for me to pull one out and scrap it.  But I started with the easier ones first... those that just needed photos stuck to them.

Two years ago (yes i'm talking in 2011) I attended the Mega Crop day run by The Scrapping Studio in Boksburg.... it was a lovely day and we made 5 super pages. One I managed to finish not too long after the day.  Well the rest have been sitting around waiting for photos and so I hauled out my photos and put them together.

and the other one I showed earlier in this post.
