Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch #293

Hope you have all had a great long weekend... ours is even longer.... hehe.... not to rub it in or anything, but Aaron's school is closed for this whole week.  So we are taking full advantage of the time off and going to the Drakensberg area for a short break.

Even with being away though, it is still business as usual at Scrapbook Challenges, with the new sketch going up.

My layout for this week is once again a single.... all about me and my favourite hobby... what else but Scrapbooking?!

Besides the cardstock 12x12 every other piece on this page is made with leftovers from other pages... a great way to use up lots of scraps.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch #292

Brrr..... it's turned cold all of a sudden.... we went from glorious autumn days to cold, grey miserable weather... I sure hope it doesn't last tooo long.

This week's sketch is live at Scrapbook Challenges.... another one with lots of awesome possibilities

As said before, this month is a month of single layouts for me... so yes I used the single page sketch, but mixed things up a bit and added in a few extra photos.

This layout is about my niece who was helping Papa & Granny in the garden during her month long stay with them.... very sweet.  I added in the wooden garden tools (which I just inked) for some added effect.

Earth Day

It's Earth Day today.... which means that we need to do SOMETHING for the planet today... even Google are doing their bit...

Remember, there is the Ecoscrapbook bloghop happening today too.

For my contribution this weekend, I have scrapped a few layouts... all of them using very old papers from my stash... nothing new has been bought for any of them. Today I also put the finishing touches to some layouts created over the past two weeks... going to scan them all tomorrow, so will showcase them later this week.

Time to go green....

With Earth Day coming up on Sunday there is lots going on about saving our planet... well I think I might just do a little bit for this too.... I'm going to take a blog hop on Sunday that is going to inspire me to scrap greener (or at least I hope so).... why not join in the fun....

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch #291

School holidays are over (for now)... we had a good break from our morning routine... I got to sleep till 6:30 most mornings - a whole hour later than usual.  BUT now it's back to that awful alarm clock waking me up miles tooooo early... and it's still dark... so not nice.  But at least it's only for the next two weeks and then we are off for another week's school holiday - something to look forward to.

I managed to get a few pages scrapped in the holiday, but I must still finish a few of them (missing pics and journalling)... so they will be coming soon.  What I can show you though is this week's great sketch options from Scrapbook Challenges....

I went with the single page option, but had to rotate it and flip it to make it work with my pics,

I scratched through my scraps box and found a whole bunch of bits and pieces that worked on this page... including some rubons.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch #290

It has been great having a long weekend... Easter has been filled with fun, sun and scrapping.  On Friday my parents brought Aaron back home and we all went out for lunch at the botanical gardens to celebrate their 49th wedding anniversary.

Saturday I spent scrapping with two very good friends of mine... had a great creative day.  On Sunday it was Easter egg hunt, church and then veg.  A nice relaxed day.  On Monday we again just relaxed at home and in the afternoon took Aaron to my parents..... he has another week of holidays so  my "mommy holiday" is still in full swing.

Yesterday a new sketch was published at Scrapbook Challenges... this one is great for lots of photos in either the single or double format.

I once again chose to do the single layout... and did pics of us flying to Cape Town in January.

I used lots of leftovers for this page... a great way to add various patterns and also to use up some stash.

It is also the last week of the March Madness challenge... the final two people are competing and we are holding thumbs for both of them.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 289

Wow can you believe it, we're already in April?  Time sure has flown by.  It's school holidays and that means "Mommy holiday" for me... yippee.  AND I'm lucky enough to have TWO weeks of it.... Aaron's school only goes back on the 16th... happy scrappy days ahead for me.

The new sketch is up at Scrapbook Challenges.... again you have the option of single and double pages.

Don't be put off by all those circles.... they can be FUN.  I chose to do the single page option and decided on a pool birthday party that Aaron went to.

I used a range of papers from Echo Park... stickers and all... and it made this page come together 1-2-3.
