Let's Scrap - 15 May reveal

Here is my third reveal for the day.... busy day here on the blog indeed.

I found some old Simple Stories papers to play with...yes at the moment I am digging into my stash and trying to use some of it up. I got inspired by the 24/7 printed on the paper and decided that coffee photos would work well with the title... plus I had lots of pics to make the double. Actually I made the three "tags" into flaps and have extra photos under each one too.

You have all month to make a layout and link it up on the blog for this sketch (as well as our earlier sketch too) so come play along.

Off The Rails - May moodboard

It's time for me to share my layout for the moodboard at Off The Rails.... this month out theme is Mother Nature.

I was drawn to the predominately orange colour of the fire but my first thought was of sunsets, so I chose a beautiful photo of a sunset as seen from my scraproom. I decided to pair it with a cutfile from PaperIssues. I cut this out of orange cardstock and backed it with plain white to which I added yellow, orange and red distress oxide inks.

Once all was stuck down I ran a stitching wheel over it to form some more sun rays and then went over these with a white pen. Lastly I added my title which is a Rachel Hodge free cutfile.

Let's Get Sketchy - 15 May reveal

A few weeks back we had a weekend break at Maglies Park. It was a lovely relaxing weekend away. Mom & I took quite a few walks around the golf course and spied a few of the local buck species on the greens. We never did get quite as close to these buck as in previous visits... but it was still a good holiday. These pics are from one of our previous trips in 2015.

I kept this layout fairly simple and clutter free but did follow the sketch for the placement of my elements. I used a Celebr8 chipboard title which I inked in blues and greens and covered with a layer of All Purpose champagne. I picked up the leftover ink from my craftsheet and splattered on my page to for that nice shimmery effect.  The flowers are a die cut which I cut in green and blue and added a few microbeads to the centers.

Doing a bit more quilling

I got an order when I was at the craft market two weeks ago for some clowns and owl... so I've been busy making and delivered them today.... love how fun they turned out.

I couldn't decide on the colour for the owls at first so made a few extra.. I still have these two available:

iNSD with The Cut Shoppe

The 5th of May was {inter}National Scrapbooking Day and lots of blogs were having online challenges and crops. I decided to try my had at a few but then scaled down and only did one. I ran out of time really. Anyway here's my entries for the challenges held by The Cut Shoppe:

I used the polaroid cutfilefor this and backed it with lots and lots of scraps from Simple Stories. It all got inspired by a journal card on the Simple Stories paper which I ended up cutting out for the bottom corner. This is also for a product challenge at Scrapbook Generations.

It might not show up tooo well in this photo but I stitched a straight line through each row of hearts to hold them down. I then added some pink and red ink before stamping my quote and added the inked chipboard title. I used a few hearts from the center of the cutfile as well and then added some bling.

I loved the title cutfile and decided that bunny pics would be perfect for this. I also used the colour scheme from the challenge at Scrapbook Generations.

I started with the sketch and celebrate challenge for Sketch N Scrap for my page and then added the challenge from Scrapbook Generation where I had to used certain products. Managed to tick all the boxes on this one. For the cutfile challenge, I offset the words to make a matt. I inked the actual words with Brilliance silver ink.

I am happy that I managed to get these layouts done. It also got me to use some of my stash and play a bit with my curio machine and cutfiles.

As you can see, I am also entering some of these layouts in other challenges at Sketch N Scrap and Scrapbook Generations as well. Posts about those challenges will be coming up towards the end of the month. It's going to be a busy scrapping month ahead!

ScrapPlezier - May moodboard

It's time again for another moodboard challenge:

I was inspired by the soft and "dreamy" feel of the colours in this moodboard and so chose to scrap ballet photos of one I saw four years ago all about a dream. I used a half sheet of the Truly sheet from the Kaisercraft XO Collection and paired this with some packaging leftovers for the tags. Before sticking everything down I added some blue and pink ink splats to my background. I finished the layout off with some stamped stitching.

Quilling goodies for sale

As mentioned a few time in the past few blog posts, I've been busy creating with my quilling for a craft sale that was held on the 5th of May. Well I didn't sell as much as I had hoped, so I still have quite a bit of stash available. If you would like any of these, please drop me a comment, or even a message through my facebook page.

Stick It Down - May double pager

May seems to be gallopping by fast... or maybe it's just because I've been so busy this last week. Aaron's school had a fundraiser on Saturday for the SPCA and I took a craft stall to sell my quilling. So most of last week was preparing for that. I did manage to scrap a little at the beginning of the week, seeing as Tuesday was a public holiday. I made this layout for the new sketch up at Stick It Down:

I really had fun creating this layout. I started with Celebr8 paper and then added my photos. Once it was all stuck I decided that the background needed a bit of work so grabbed a plastic bag and my distress ink and did a bit of inky messy stamping in blue, yellow and orange on my background. Yes I really should have done this before I stuck my photos, but sometimes the brain just doesn't kick in till after! The only slight mishap is a few blue splashes on one photo (but not enough to distract from anything!).

ScrapPlezzier - Happy Snaps

I have a new layout up today at ScrapPlezier... fun pics of my great-nieces

I used the one full sheet of the Kaisercraft Happy Snaps collection that I've been holding on to for years... yes that one piece of paper you can never part with because it's too pretty/special. Well this week I decided it needed to be used and these photos of my great-nieces were just the perfect pairing with this paper. I added a few strips and stickers and fussy cut some flowers from the range too to add to my layout.

My challenge to you this month is to dig out your stash and use a piece of paper that you've been hanging on to for years.

Let's Scrap- 1 May reveal

It's a new month which means lots of reveals. Here is my second layout for the start of May.

I again chose to do just a single page from the double page sketch for this reveal... this time I used the right hand side. I used a few smaller photos to replace the two landscapes. The paper and stickers are all from Simple Stories... glad I finally managed to use some of them.
