GDD Resolutions

GDD has a new kit released today called Resolutions. It's such a bright and colourful kit that I really enjoyed creating my layout for it.

I don't really do resolutions except maybe to do scrapping, drink coffee and eat chocolate. These are the same ones I make every year... hehehe.

Remember to check out The Digital Press for this and other kits.

Blue Heart Scraps - Then & Now

The new kit is out for Blue Heart Scraps... another jam packed one in the most gorgeous of colours. The theme is just perfect for those memories over the years... like this school one I just did of Aaron.

The photos are Grade 1, Grade 7, Grade 8 and Grade 12... yes there is definitely a big change in age and height, but he is still the same little guy I always love.

Aaron passed his matric exams, but not quite as well as he needed to to go study for the BSc degree as planned. So at the moment we are investigating a few other options, one of which is flight school. His dream since he was 10 has been to fly... so this might just be the push we need to get him there sooner rather than later.

Remember to head over to the Gingerscraps store and snag this grab bag quickly while it is available.

The LilyPad - Month of Challenges (Week 2)

I got off to a slow start with this week's layouts... took me a few days to get my head around some of them. Also I started back at work on the 6th and it's my busy week with billing so haven't had as much time to scrap as when I was on leave. Plus still trying to figure out stuff with Aaron for this year put a little a damper on my scrapping mojo for a few days. At least we have booked his learner's licence appointment which is a step forward.

So here is what I have done for this week:
Day 6 - Scrappable Stackable
Day 7 - Magazine Inspiration
Day 8 - Build Your Own Tree
Day 9: QR Code
Day 10: Altered Tags
Day 11: Vision Board
Day 12 - Fillable Template

Looking back, some of these challenges weren't really any that I wanted to do... ie I wasn't too excited to read them. But as lots of the ladies in the forum have said... that's why it's called a CHALLENGE (hehe!!). I am definitely going to try every single one of the 31... it's all part of my LEARN word for this year... learning new things in digi scrapping.

There is still time if you want to sign up to play along too.. just pop along to The Lilypad.

Blue Heart Scraps - Be Positve

The new kit is released at Gingerscraps called Be Positive.

I think this is a lovely sentiment to be going into 2020 with, especially after the semi-upheaval we got on Tuesday with Aaron's matric results. He passed which is great news, just not really well enough for the plans we had in place for varsity. So now we're trying to figure out a way forward... be positive sounds like a good idea.

This is such a pretty kit and very versatile for lots of layouts. Here's what I created:

You can pick up this bundle deal this week, or from next week you can get the individual pieces.

I also played with the templates that were released last Friday called Instant Replay 5.

Being such a great and colourful kit, I am sure I will use this one quite a bit in the future.

The LilyPad - Month of Challenges (week 1)

I took the plunge and signed up to do the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad... that means 31 layouts this month. We will just have to see how I get one I guess. I've decided to break the posting down into weekly segments so I can keep track of myself and not overload one post with layouts.

Day 1: Blind Scrap
Day 2: List
Day 3: Frames
Day 4: Simple Template

Day 5: Grid

So one week in and so far so good. There has definitely been some learning happening here... yikes I feel like I am going to be stretched to the max by the end of this month and we're only on day 5!

Blue Heart Scraps - Midnight Kisses

This kit was released just before New Year's but I only got to play with it today.

You can find the bundle in the Gingerscraps Shop.

I also played with the templates that have been released called Instant Replay 5.

I am learning how to use these templates more every time I play with them. My new tablet is really making scrapping easy.... so glad I got it.

Off to a good start

I just found out this morning that my layout was picked in the lucky draw from the template challenge at Kate Hadfield's blog for last month. This was the first time I had entered too. I am super chuffed.

I will soon have another $15 to spend ... building up my digi stash little by little.

Blue Heart Scraps - CT layouts

This is my first sharing of layouts as a guest CT member for Blue Heart Scraps. I've been using kits and freebies from JoyLynn for a few months now and really enjoy her style of creating. When I joined the team over the weekend I even went to look for some templates designed by her to create my layouts with... makes the process a little easier (like using a sketch!). I couldn't stop at just making one layout, so did two:

The new kit is out as a part of the January buffet in the Gingerscraps store.

I used the ChevronLove and TooHexy templates for my two layouts.

GDD - Cheers kit

The new Cheers kit from Gone Digital Designs is now available at The Digital Press... perfect for our brand new year of 2020.

I found some photos from 2013 New Years Eve that were just perfect to scrap with this kit. I used the free with purchase template and got to play sooo nicely in PixelLab putting the layout together.

Hope your New Year's Day is peaceful and the year ahead is filled to the brim with goodness.

Happy New Year 2020

From me and my family to each of you... Happy New Year. May this be the year of new adventures and learning experiences.

I definitely need to follow this verse more and more this year.

I am sure there will still be lots of coffee, chocolate and scrapping happening this year.. the same goals as I had in 2019 and 2018. The year holds some new changes as Aaron is now finished with school and we are still awaiting his matric results (on the 7th) and then hopefully he is off to varsity.

We have holidays to look forward to... Wyndford in April and then Mabula and Pilansberg in July. Besides that there might be a few back and forths to Bloemfontein to fetch and carry Aaron to varsity...so I guess it will be a busy time.

I also hope to get to grips with digi scrapping. I need to learn a few new techniques, or at least figure out how to do them in the app that I use!

And all of this of course has to fit in between working, running the household, being available for Mom, reading and everything else. Should make for an interesting year.

Two of my Bible readings yesterday morning were from the Lamentations 3:22-23 passage but then I read verse 24 too and that really rang true for me.

The LORD is all I have, and so I put my HOPE in him. - That is my goal for this year. To Trust and Hope in God my Father and let Him guide me on the paths He wants me to go.
