It's time for our monthly Facebook Challenges at Sketch n Scrap and here is my layout for today:
Use this sketch and the optional twist is to use stripes on your page.... I used my stripes as the four strips around the edge.
I've been hording this paper for a while as I wasn't too sure what to do with it but then found the perfect photos of us shopping at Fouriesburg "mall"... hehehe. My kind of retail therapy is more scrapbooking related that clothing! In fact I hate shopping!
Come join us in the monthly crop group and have some fun with all the challenges on offer.

Sketch n Scrap - WCMD 2019 #2
It's the second week of October and time for our next sketch to celebrate World Card Making Day (or month as in our case!)
I've decided to go with a cherry theme for these cards.
Come over to the blog to see some more designs by the rest of the team.

DSD Challenges at Gingerscraps
Gingerscraps also had a week of games and challenges for DSD and I manged to get a few layouts done before yesterday's deadline.
I love that I am getting to learn more as I go along. Some of these pages I started in the PL app and finished in PixelLab, and others are made 100% in PixelLab. This is a pretty powerful little app that I am so happy to have found... need to learn a few more tricks still.
Hoping to get a few more layouts done for some of the normal monthly challenges too.

DSD at The Digital Press
The Digital Press also had a whole week event for DSD with lots of challenges and games. I played along with lots of the games and even managed to do a few of the layout challenges too.
The Roadtrip layout in my previous post was my first one... a scraplift of Stefanie Semple's page. I used a kit called Daytrip by Anita Designs.
My second layout was for the slow scrap.I used the Cordelia kit by Humble&Create:
The I did this layout for the "Stuck In the corner" challenge where everything had to be in just one corner of the page.... a fun idea but oh so hard to keep to one little space. I used the free Moodring kit for this layout.... really love the filmstrip frame.
Next up is the "mix it up" challenge... the goal was to use goodies from 3 kits. Well I did that plus a bit of Project Life elements too... this layout was started in the PL App and finished in PixelLab. Really extends project life pages to a whole new level. I used elements and papers from three kits: Hello September, Here & Now and Happy Days.
Last up was the bingo challenge. This one stretched me quite a bit as I didn't want to use any specific item but rather what I could do easily with what was on hand. I played and played with it and still ended up making a spelling mistake on my title which I have since fixed.
My bingo choices were: 3 papers (excl background) round corners, photo mask, 2 ribbons and alphas.
Again for this layout I used elements and papers from more than one kit. I used Wave Kissed, Happy Days, Smiles and Joy, Schooled and the Hello Sept Alpha.
Not bad going for a first time doing a quick event turnaround. I usually plan and plan and then have a month to do stuff... but this was truly lots of fun. There should still be some monthly challenges coming up too so I hope to get lots more done soon.
UPDATE 11 OCT.... The winners have been picked by random draw and I just heard that I won the scraplift challenge (my roadtrip layout)... how jolly exciting!
I will find out soon what exactly I won... but I see some shopping happening in the near future!

IQCG - Oct 2019 - Autumn
The northern hemisphere is heading for autumn whilst we are into spring. Both these seasons have the most beautiful array of colours. Our moodboard for this month is all about the colours of autumn.
I decided to try my hand at a little "patchwork".... made lots and lots of little diamonds and then stuck them all together in an intricate pattern (that took quite a bit of brainwork and concentration!). Once all done I turned it into this card:
Come play along with our moodboard too:
Visit the blog and be inspired by the rest of the team to play along for challenge #IQCG63.

Digital Scrapbooking Day at Simply Project Life
As well as WCMD this past weekend, Saturday was Digital Scrapbooking Day (or DSD for short). As I am keen to get going with my digi layouts I gave myself the challenge of completing as many challenges out there as I could. I found challenges from Simply Project Life, Gingerscrap, The Digital Press and The LilyPad. I will share layouts for each site in it's own post. So here's the first installement.
Simply Project Life and their sister group App Scrappers - Project Life and Beyond hosted an "App Scrap Across America" event on Saturday with online challenges for those of us who couldn't make it. There were 11 challenges in total and I managed to complete 6 by "bedtime on Sunday" (which was the stated deadline but would have been 6 Monday morning and I wasn't staying up all night to scrap!)
There were a few more that I was keen on trying but really just ran out of omph. I might just tackle them later this month anyway... we'll see.

Digi catchup
At the end of September the Simply Project Life group had a game of "Telephone Scrapping"...lots of fun to see how a layout evolves from the first one posted to the end.
I did two layouts during the game:
During September the Gingerscraps site had their 11th birthday. I had plans of doing a few of the challenges but then ended up getting some private work to do which put paid to my free time. In the end I only got one layout done for the Speed Scrap.
Hope that next time there is a challenge that I can get a few more done.

Stick It Down - Double Layout - Oct2019
The new month has started and I have been busy creating again for all the posts that will be shared this month. This layout was in the planning for a while and finally came together to be shared today:
I used some leftover stash from Celebr8 for my layout... love the colours in all these papers. I ehanced everything by adding some flower clusters int he same colours and then did some stamping for my title and the tag labels.
The tags actually flap up and down to show the menus from each mealtime.
So in effect I got 16 photos on this two page layout.
Here is the fabulous sketch we worked with.
Be sure to check out the blog for lots more inspiration.

Sketch n Scrap - October layout
There is a fun 5photo sketch on the blog this month and I really am glad to have one with lots of photos to scrap this month.
I've been holding on to these photos for ages to put them onto a page so this sketch was just perfect. This is one of the last of my 2014 pages that was outstanding (think I have 2 left to do!).
Come and play along with us on our facebook group or blog or even join the monthly challenge group.
