Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 300

It's the last Monday of the second term... this time next week I will be on Mommy holiday... and looking forward to getting time to do lots of scrapping... the last few weeks have just been so busy that I haven't actually touched sides.

This past weekend we had a soap box derby on at Aaron's school... it was a real fun-filled day.  If you want to see more, check out the school blog.  To top of the amazing day I went and fell on the steps at our house that evening and ended up hurting my feet.... was hobbling around most of Sunday.  Thank goodness this morning everything seems to be back to normal.  It was Father's Day yesterday and my folks came over for lunch.  We just  vegged by a roaring fire all afternoon... played monopoly as well.

Today's sketch is up at Scrapbook Challenges and we have reached the 300 milestone. Be sure to check out the forum for lots more inspiration.

For my layout I used the single page sketch and decided to change the circles for hearts in keeping with the "valentines" theme of the photo.  At Aaron's school they don't celebrate valentines as such... rather they have renamed it "Agapanthus Day" to celebrate Agape love.... love one for another.

While you are at the forum checking out the rest of the team's layouts, why not join in a game of bingo... you choose 25 words from the list and the words will be called during the month of July.

Don't forget too, there are lots of fun challenges each week run by different Design Team members.

Scrapbook Challenges - Design Team Call Layout

I've been on the Design Team for Scrapbook Challenges all year (as I'm sure you know) and have really enjoyed it.  The Forum is a great place to find sketches and challenges each week and we also chat and encourage each other.  Now it's time for a new team to be chosen... so have you applied?  I have!  So what do you need to do, well mainly you need to create a layout using this sketch:

So I created a layout to, just for this occasion:

You have till the 16th of June to apply... check out the blog post for more information.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 299

Can you believe it, but it's Monday again... hehehe.  Had a busy week last week with lots of blog posts.. hope that you enjoyed reading it all.  Here is this week's sketch from Scrapbook Challenges.

My layout for this week is from my 2010 album... one of the photos from our December holiday.
This was taken on the hill behind the cottages we were staying in... the only place we could get cellphone signal.. my niece Veronica spent a good part of each day here chatting with her mom or boyfriend.

For my layout I used papers and stickers from a variety of manufacturers... I love how they all end up working together.

Be sure to head over to the forum this week to see what the rest of the design team did.

Better Living Through Scrapbooking Challenge

I found a blog a few years back that I also follow on facebook, called Better Living Through Scrapbooking.  Well they have monthly challenges and the last few months they haven't had anyone take part... so I thought I'd try my hand at one of them (make a layout using yellow & cream) and here is my layout.

I did take a bit of licence with this challenge and added in some blue.  I used Bo Bunny papers to do this page.

Catch up post

I've been going through my list of layouts that I created this year to see which ones I've posted and which not... so here are some of the ones that you haven't seen yet.

This first layout is a scraplift of a page I saw a few years back at ScrapGirls.com

I saw this layout at The Scrapping Studio and just knew I had to do one myself.

Two/three years after making this layout by Michelle van Wyk I eventually found photos to do it justice.

A kit from M&M Adventures... I did this one a few months back but only finished it this past week when I got the class photo from school.

This layout is also a scraplift.  It has two flaps that move to reveal lots more photos.

I also had fun creating this gorgeous layout (can I say that?)  I've had this paper mini album in my stash for a few years now... and now it's done.

The following layouts are from my 2009 album... trying very hard to finish off that year.

This last layout includes some stitching that I discovered how to do after reading Cathy Lane's blog... must admit it was effective, but not something I will do again in a hurry... took me over 3 hours!

and to end off this long post, two layout that include bicycles from Enmarc.

Thanks for sticking with me to the end... hope you enjoyed the feast of layouts.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 298

What a weekend it has been.... celebrating the Queen's Jubilee.  I enjoyed watching a little of the pomp and ceremony last night with the flotilla of boats down the Thames.  Tonight I'm enjoying the celebration concert.  At least the Brits have better weather for the concert than yesterday when it poured down.

With it being Monday it is of course time for a new sketch from Scrapbook Challenges.

This is a really fun sketch... I love the angles for the photos... just adds a bit of extra interest.  For my layout, I went with the single page and did a layout about my Mom's birthday two years ago.

I am very proud of myself on this layout... I hand stitched... I think I must have been crazy, but I really do like the finished product.

Check out the forum to see what the rest of the Design Team did this week.

Queen's Jubilee

I haven't posted too many Google Doodles here lately... just been a bit busy.... but today's one really deserves to be shown....

Happy Jubilee to the Queen of England... long may she reign.
