Nuts About Sketches - Week 276

Can you believe it?  We're at the end of July already... our year is now 7 months down with only a few left... scary to think that Aaron has less than 18 months left in primary school... just the other day he started Grade 1.  The nice thing about him getting bigger though, is now he is able to do things for me... like spoil me with breakfast in bed... hehehe.

Another brilliant sketch with tons of possibilities. I really enjoy doing multi-photo pages!

See lots more great layouts on the blog today for even more inspiration.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 354

Another reveal which is slightly late... okay so now you know, last week was BUSY!!!! (So busy in fact that I haven't even done today's layout!)

My layout is all about the flowers my Mom received when Dad died last year... just a nice way to remember all the love and support we received.

Just for fun, check out the blog to see what the other ladies did with this sketch.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 275

Don't suppose too many people would have noticed, but I'm only a week late in posting this reveal... yes it was up last week Monday, but I spent most of last week editing photos and not blogging or anything else.

This was a fun sketch to do and adapt... I turned the bottom square on the right page into a little book.... got tons more photos (about 15!) in there plus journalling.

This was the sketch that we used... reckon this is one of those that can be used over and over with a variety of results.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 353

There is a great sketch up today for Scrapbook Challenges... it's a technique that I've looked at before but never done....one of those sort of "patchwork" pages but in a spiral.

My page took a little bit of brain power to work out... especially seeing as I turned it 90 degrees too!

I didn't do a lot of journaling on my page either, as my title fairly said it all... "being small has it's uses"... hehehe!

Remember, if you do this sketch and upload it to the Scrapbook Challenges gallery before the end of the month, you get an entry into the monthly prize draw.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 274

Can you believe it? We're half way through July already!  This month sure has flown by.  Today was "back to school" for Aaron and so we are going back to our normal routine of early mornings.  Hopefully I will also be able to get back to my normal 4 hours of work a day too soon.  Still doing quite a bit of overtime.  Thankfully I have some great scrapping weekends coming soon which will give me some much needed destress time.

Today's sketch is up on the Nuts About Sketches blog.

I really liked the polaroid effect of the photos on the sketch and so tried to recreate this on my page.  Then used the duvet as inspiration for my colours and patterns too.  I love how my page turned out.

Check out today's blog post for some more inspiration too.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 352

Having just got back from holiday, I dove right back into scrapping this weekend and managed to get a few design team pages done. Here is the first.... today's reveal at Scrapbook Challenges:

We had this awesome sketch to work from:

Head on over to the blog to see layouts from the rest of the Sketch Crew.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 273

We had a lovely holiday in the Mpumalanga/Limpopo wilds... see earlier post for pics.  But now we are back in full swing of things, which means scrapping inbetween working (hehe).

Today's layout was thankfully done before I went away, as Shawn is away this week and needed to post early.

Check out the blog to see the lovely layouts created this week.

Holiday snaps

We had a lovely break in the Mpumalanga / Limpopo wilds... staying at Gethlane Lodge near Burgersfort. The weather was summery  - a very different start to winter for us.  The whole week was a good relaxing  time together.  Here are some of the photos we took.

Our unit

The boys enjoying the jacuzzi

Some farm implements on display

Granny can still climb a tree at 72 years old

Made it to the top of the Boma Braai walk

Our very favourite holiday sport - putt putt

God' Window and Pilgrim's Rest

Bourke's Luck Potholes

Afternoon walk to the gate

Up close with an Nyala

Walking around the lodge

Holiday projects - knitting
We arrived back to rather a rude awaking this morning.... temperatures of 13 degrees instead of the 26 we've had all week!  Oh well, winter is now upon us.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 272

We're away on holiday this week, but thankfully I managed to get my page done early.

As I didn't have quite enough photos for the sketch, I decided to add in some cooking sort of words in place of one and the journalling block, and then swop another for the journalling.  A step by step photo layout of how to make  pizza!
Remember, you can see a lot more layouts on the blog each week.
