Nuts About Sketches - Week 181

The first week of holiday has come and gone and we are busy counting the sleeps till Aaron comes home on Friday.  I haven't managed to get nearly as much done this holiday as I usually do, but it has been a good break so far.  Doing lots of friend visiting this week so even less is getting done... not that I'm complaining as it is great to catch up without a little guy nagging to go home!

On to this week's awesome sketch from Nuts About Sketches

I chose to scrap photos from a school event from last year.

The kids had the opportunity to get up close to a cheetah... everyone got to stroke it too.  I had sent my camera in for the day and so got some photos to record this great occasion.

I added the paw prints on to my layout using a glue rubon and then adding some gold foiling.... just a subtle yet effective detail.  The pattern paper was all out of my scraps box - yay!

Nuts About Sketches - Week 180

It's the first week of Aaron's school holiday... he luckily gets two weeks off at this time of year.... lovely mommy holiday for me!  I hope to get lots of scrapping done but also need to get a few other important things tackled over the next two weeks... here's hoping!

Well with it being Monday it must be sketch day.... so here is the new one from Nuts About Sketches... a lovely double pager.

My layout is all about Keith and his new contraption he bought to chop wood... and of course Aaron had to have a go too... so they became lumberjacks for an hour or so one Sunday afternoon.

I'm chuffed with myself for this layout... I used a sheet of denim paper and also the wood paper that I have had in my stash for absolutely ages.  The "ribbon" I used was actually a strap off one of Aaron's drinking bottles that he never used.  The blue lettering is from Shoestring Scrapbooking.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 179

A new week means another sketch from Nuts About Sketches.

My layout showcases my boy having fun on the pc with my best friend's son.  I managed to use a few scraps on the page as well as both sides of a double-sided Cosmo Cricket piece of paper.  I added in an extra pic as I couldn't choose which one to leave out!

Nuts About Sketches - Week 178

Second week of September already... this year has flown by and the weeks keep disappearing.  In just a few months it's my birthday and then Christmas... ouch!!!

Here is this week's great double page sketch from Nuts About Sketches.

My layout is of the day Aaron went to Maholoholo with Papa & Granny in the July school holidays.

As there were soooooooooooo many great pics of all the birds and animals, I decided to make the top section of the sketch into a flap and put all my little extra pics underneath.

I got a very surprising email today.... my blog was chosen to be a "featured blog" on a site called ScrapbookLayoutIdeas..... don't know who they are, or how they found me... but if it gets me some exposure then I guess that is good!

Nuts About Sketches - Week 176

The last day of August already!  Tomorrow is SPRING.... yippeee.  As this is the end of the month it must mean that there is a sketch from Nuts About Sketches.... and this in the last one for this current term for the design team.

A double layout with loads of photos.... what an absolute delight.... and it was just perfect for the ton of pics that I took to showcase Aaron's KFC kiddies meal toys that he got in April.... a raceway with cars.

Even on this layout I didn't use all the photos that I took, but this selection was enough to showcase the fun that Aaron had... and I also managed to get some great up close action shots!  I think I had taken just over 80 pictures that day.

Nuts About Sketches - new design team

The new design team for Nuts About Sketches (Sept 2011 - Feb 2012) has been announced.... and yes my name is on the list!!!!

Nuts About Sketches - Week 174

Brrrr someone left the freezer door open again.  Our winter is biting again.  At least the bright side of this is that I can scrap by the blazing fire, which is what I did for most of July (as you can see in my previous post).  Part of that scrapfest included my design team layouts too.... so here is this week's awesome Nuts About Sketches sketch.

I decided to tackle my Easter pictures from this year.

I even managed to use bits and pieces from my stash... slowly dipping in to the hord of stuff and using it up.
