Layouts in June

For some reason June has come and gone and I haven't managed to do too much scrapping.... it's been a bit busy with end of school, world cup parades, being sick, holiday club, and and and.... I feel like haven't even read as much as usual, but looking back at what I have read there were quite a few books in the pile.  Also with it being winter we've been having a roaring fire going in the lounge and then I don't want to go upstairs to my scraproom and scrap, so I have been vegging in front of the tv and watching more soccer than ever before in my life!

These are the last pages that I did this month:

This was a page that I did at the mega-scrap in May with Scrapping Studio... just finished it off with my photos and journalling.

With doing "bling" layouts I decided to do another one.  The letters for the title are all glittery but I ran out of some letters... so found some black ones which I then just painted with pink glitter paint... none of which you can actually see in the scan (hehee!)

I used a sticker (mommy & child in the chair) on this page  that I've been saving for a few years... eventually printed the right photos to use it!

And I created only one other layout in the last two weeks but you will have to wait till the weekend to see it as it's for my design team contribution.

And now for the bad news about my layout-a-day goal.....  I'm BEHIND! ouch.  at the end of May I was three pages short.... but now at the end of June I'm 19 layouts short.... ouch!!!  Thankfully Aaron is away at my folks for the next week so hopefully I can knuckle down and get some major scrapping done.

Design teams I didn't make

I applied to be on the design team for Kaisercraft but heard that I didn't make it :(  anyway I'm not too disappointed... it was fun to do some other creating... here is what I made:

The other design team I applied for was Stuck! Sketches... there we had to create a layout using the sketch provided:

and also make two other layouts....

At least doing these layouts helped a bit towards my layout-a-day goal... but more on that in another post.

Sketches: Creatively Yours... layout 8

Another week, another sketch and another layout completed.... this one I did very simply (just like a lot of my other layouts) and it was 1-2-3 done!

As to why the photos look out of focus and skew... who knows??? it's how it scanned!

In celebration of all things "World Cup".  The background was all put together from scraps of cardstock and I cut the soccerball out of black cardstock.  The 2010 is actually ribbon that I bought which might end up appearing on a few more layouts of the world cup.

Once Upon A Time...

I did some quilling... and now eventually I've scrapped the layout about it!

This layout I did for a challenge over at In2Crafts.... their June challenge was to create a layout about a fairytale... made up if you want!  I'm so glad to have gotten this one done eventually!!!

Some more layouts for Let's Scrap

The National Scrap Day {month?} is over at Let's Scrap.... but I had some layouts still planned... here are the last of them all done now...

NSD#3 - this challenge was done on the day but I liked the sketch and challenge so decided to it anyway.... had to use the following recipes:
5 buttons
4 metal items - I used staples
3 patterned papers
2 quotation marks (in my journalling)
1 handwriting - my journalling

Challenge 11 - school based layout and use 3 different embellishments

Challenge 44 - use 2 different patterned papers and scrap a home

Challenge 46 - use paper older than 5 years from your stash, use alphabet stickers in your title, use 2 items from the list... I used stickers & rubons

Challenge 47 - no patterned paper allowed, use a diecut, use a handmade an element (my railway track), use a quote

Today's THE day..

World Cup Soccer IS HERE!!!  And look... even Google is feeling the fever...

And the same for Google.co.za

It is soooooooo exciting!

Aaron & I along with friends were among that HUGE crowd on Wednesday in Sandton.... lots of fun and VERY VERY LOUD vuvuzelas.  We got to see the bus with the team and coach on it... but unfortunately I missed the photo as I was holding Aaron up away from the mass... here's some of the pics from the day.

and after all this madness we went to Sandton City for some lunch.  Everyone was blowing the silly vuvuzelas IN the shopping centre too.... sooooooooooooooooooo not nice!  It echos and is about 10 time louder than is actually comfortable on the ears.  But in amongst all that we did manage to get this cute pic (didn't realise it was so fuzzy... sorry!)

And so the World Cup starts.... lots of fun.
