Stick It Down - Double Layout - Nov2019

It's hard to believe that November is here already... This year has flown by again. At least with scrapping past years I get to slow down time just a little.

I used the lovely CocoaVanillaStudio Happiness range on my layout...love the bright colours. The page didn't need to much else so I just used some of the stickers from the range and added my title. I swopped the two sides of the sketch around as it worked better for the flow of my photos.

This is the fabulous sketch we worked with.

Be sure to check out the blog for lots more inspiration.

Sketch n Scrap - November layout

It's time to share a new layout this month using the 1st of November's sketch:

I used a "new to me" range for this layout. It's called The Timbuktu Collection by Leah-Donna, a South African designer. I haven't used these before but must say that worked so well with my travel photos.

Here is the great sketch that I used:

Last few October digi pages

So as we wind up October I thought I'd share the last few pages I've created this month for the challenges that I've been tackling.

For those at The Lily Pad:
Scraplift
Style
Photography
I completed 6 challenges of the 8 on offer.

At the Digital Press I've now completed 6 of the 9 challenges:
Short Story
Instant Replay

Dress Up

Digi Morph
White Space

So it sure has been a successful month digi scrapping... I am learning lots and lots and being creative is soooooooooo good. Though I do keep getting distracted from other stuff I should be doing. Need to figure out my scrapping schedule a little more maybe. Weekends are definitely scrapping (and not working!) time.

UnstampaBellas: Oct2019

Here is my card made especially for this month's theme:

This month's challenge is: Well, Thank You
The twist to the challenge is:Brilliant in Blue

This challenge was fairly easy for me as blue is my favouritist colour in the whole world. I found the soft paper in my leftover stash and even the rubon flowers too. The quilled flowers were ones I had wanted to try for a while. I bought the sentiment diecut in March and it worked so well for this challenge.

Remember to link you entry to the first post of the month and you can win a prize

Sketch n Scrap - WCMD 2019 #4

It's our last sketch reveal today for the month of celebration of World Card Making Day.

I really enjoyed making this set of cherry themed cards... hope they brought a smile to your face too.

Remember to head over to the blog to see what the rest of the team made and to share your cards too.

Gingerscraps - October challenges

I've had a productive month learning digi scrapping using the Photoscape program. This is really because my tablet and phone both started objecting with storage space issues. Digi scrapping supplies are quite intense in size and each file can be over 5Mb (or bigger!)... with the final jpeg getting to be that or larger. At least on the pc it doesn't get as sluggish or full and I can resize in a jiffy. I am sure I will still do app scrapping on my mobile devices as it is convenient, will just have to do less graphic intense work till I can get a decent upgrade in a few months time.

So to get me going I dove into doing some of the 20+ challenges at Gingerscraps... The goal is to do 10 and then you land a freebie.... and look at that I've managed to get 10 done. Here's what I accomplished:

Font

Scraplift

Pocket Scrapping
Connie Prince Mini Kit

Inspiration
Mix It Up - use torn paper

Daily Download
Mini Kit

Brush

Designer
This last double layout is inspired by a Jowilna original design... I thought long and hard about my scrapping and decided that seeing as I REALLY love Jow's design style I will see if I can translate it digitally. Super happy to say that with some tweaks and a bit of forethought I think I will be able to do a lot of her designs in the future.

Seeing as this was such a successful month scrapping these challenges, next month I plan on doing some more... it is definitely helping me get through my 2018 album backlog.

Sketch n Scrap - WCMD 2019 #3

It's time for our third sketch in our World Card Making Day celebration:

I used some leftover stickers to add a few bits to my card and then my little quilled cherries to keep the theme going.

Off The Rails - Oct moodboard

It's time to share my layout for this month's moodboard:

Our theme this month is all about the desert... well these pics of a good old South African windmill were perfect for this! I also took inspiration from the orangy colours of the sand and daisy for my layout colour choice.

The Digital Press - Oct challenges

I am on a roll with trying digi scrapping and have decided to try my hand at a few more of the monthly challenges on offer. Here is one that I've created for The Digital Press:

1. Time Warp - scrapping two photos of the same person at least one year apart.

I did a scraplift of this layout on pinterest that I really like.

Wow how's this for fun.... I had barely finished this layout on Monday and it got picked yesterday as a gallery standout... really making my day and boosting my digi confidence.

The Lily Pad - Oct challenges

So if two digi sites is not enough to keep me going (The Digital Press and Gingerscraps), I signed up to another one this month too (The Lily Pad) and took the plunge to do a few of their monthly challenges as well.

I've been stalking most of these sites for years and collecting lots of freebies. So now I guess it's paying off as now I can use my vast digi stash (just need to get it properly organised!)

Here are the pages I made:
Inspiration Challenge

Template Challenge

Random Challenge - use date stamp

I was watching a tutorial video on Friday about the program Photoscape and suddenly the penny dropped that I could use this to scrap.... so 1-2-3 I made three pages for the three challenges. I was super fast and super easy. My biggest dither is choosing papers and elements... much the same as with paper scrapping (hehehe).
