YAY!!! I am official back on the Design Team for:
Scrapbook Challenges
as well as
Nuts About Sketches
I am definitely raring to scrap up a storm again. I sort of took a sabbatical for this year from DT work and must admit that I have missed scrapping every weekend. Well that's going to change now... also my blog took quite a backseat too this year with not having much scrapping to show... so hopefully I won't flood you with too many posts... but be aware they will be coming every week now.

Nuts About Sketches - DT Application
It's been pretty quiet on my scrapping front here... have been doing lots of classes but just don't have photos on those pages yet to be able to show them off. BUT I did see that Shawn Lahr is having a DT Call for Nuts About Sketches so I thought I'd make the effort to create a brand new page and submit it.
The sketch I used was from week 314, and here is my page:
I got inspired by all the classes I've been doing with Jowilna and created the little accents for this page by inking some white cardstock in pink and blues, then splashing some brown dots before embossing it with a black ink brick pattern. Once all dry I punched some circles... lovely inexpensive addition to the page.

Scrap-A-Doodles Design Team Audition 2014
I am putting it out there that I would love to be on the Scrap-A-Doodles Design Team.... so here are some of my favourite pages that I feel showcase my style... simple yet full of photos.
I love playing with paper and if I can curl, cut, fold and stick it onto a layout, I will. So I couldn't just pick three pages to show my scrapping, but rather I went with a few to show how I love to play with paper.
First up is a layout which includes some quilling - the art of rolling paper. I made all the irises and stems for this page, as well as the little daisies.
Another favourite for adding detail is iris folding... on this page I made a couple of cupcakes to enhance the theme. I also "iced" the title with puff paint - another favourite. Then added in a couple of baking extras for effect.
A trend not so long ago, was to do paper windmills... an old childhood favourite. This layout definitely pops with the addition of the windmills. Then to extend the amount of photos on this page, I made a mini-album flap on the right-hand side for tons more photos.
Another great way to include lots of photos, is by cutting them. On this layout got to play with my cuttlebug circles.... absolutely love this die cut set.
So there you have it... singles and doubles but all with multi-photos and all with a little touch of something extra to make them mine.
Holding thumbs that I get through the first round of auditions.

Some Artzy layouts
In March I attended Retha van der Walt's Artzy Girl event.... it was a great day out with some fun artzy pages.... I learnt a few fun techniques, did stuff that I had never done before (and some I might never do again!), plus we had gorgeous food, lots of laughs and time with friends. In general I really really enjoyed the day.
I'm sure the next Artzy Girl day in August will be just as much fun!
This page is based on one of the bonus kits we got but then I changed the photo placements and added the chipboard frame which I painted silver

A long overdue update
It's been way too long since I last did a blog post.... with no design team commitments since February, I have taken a bit of a break and trying to catch up on myself... except that isn't really working as I've been doing a lot more overtime work than anything else!!!
The upside of it all is that I have managed to do a few pages here and there so I get to show off some of them for you now... these stretch as far back as January!
These first ones are from Scrapkits that I changed up a bit
This page is a design by Sharon Coetzer
These next ones are all Michelle van Wyk designed layouts with twists from me.
This next page I did years and years ago but never had photos for...this one was from an all-day event I did with Retha when she still had her shop(!)
Think that's enough for this post... have some more pages to show off but will do them in another post or two.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 306
Boo hoo...this is my last reveal for this design team term at Nuts About Sketches.... I have loved creating a layout each week and as much as I will miss the commitment and deadline, I think I need this break to regroup and find time to scrap for me.
When I saw the sketch I just knew that these photos would be perfect... I picked up all the colours from the photos and played with the accent of red from my jersey. Just a fun relaxed page.
Remember to check out the blog to see more layouts.
I will miss posting a NAS layout every week, but at some stage I will be back designing for Shawn. For now, it's with love that I say goodbye.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 305
This week's sketch is up at Nuts about Sketches.... another one with a big photo space that I changed to suit what I needed to do with the photos on hand.
I used three photos in place of the one big one, and then did a play on the shape of the jacuzzi for my "circle" and added a hexagonal space for my journalling.
For the splotches I did some splats with distress ink and also painted some puff paint circles... sort of trying to create drops of water.
There are some great ideas by the DT on the blog this week, so don't forget to check them out too.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 304
I am amazed each Monday that the week has passed so fast... it's busy busy at work and home and then the week disappears and it's Monday again and time for another reveal.
I enjoyed creating this page... focused on the turquoise colour. I also added in an extra circle photo and then changed the journal circle into a photo as well.
There are some lovely layouts by the rest of the team to see on the blog, go check them out.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 303
Can you believe it we're already one month done in the new year? Feb is here along with all the excitement and busyness that goes along with it, which of course means tons of scrapping for me.
LOVED this sketch... one with room for tons of photos...and then I made each of the jumbos into half size so got even more photos on my page.
Head over to the blog to see some other ideas with this sketch, as well as the announcement of the new DT.
