I missed posting last week's layout and sketch... so here is me playing catch up.
For my layout I used square and rectangle photos instead of circles on the sketch. I also tried to do a technique that I learnt a few weeks ago with Jowilna... cutting little bits of the same paper and sticking them over again... just an effective tidbit.
Hope you manage to see what the rest of the team did with this sketch... check out the blog.

Spur of the moment scrapping...
On Friday I ordered and paid for a kit from Michelle van Wyk... well on Saturday morning I decided that I would go to her shop (the Bonsai Huisie) and do the kit as she was teaching it then.... very spur of the moment! And was a great kit it is....
Me being the fast scrapper that I am, was finished this page by 10:30.... so decided that I needed to do another one... and Michelle just happened to have some kits on hand in the shop.
I came home and managed to find photos there and then for both pages and so even finished them on Saturday... was a truly great scrapping day.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 287
Wow another week flown by and already it's reveal day... can hardly keep up at the moment.
As I had a few more photos than would fit in the 8x10 photo space i decided to change things up a bit again... turned the whole photo mat and top strips into a flap... so when you lift it up you get to see:
And the underneath part of the flap has some closeup pics on it.
Here is the original sketch we worked with

My latest batch of completed kits
I've been slowly working my way through some kits and notes and have completed a few more in the last few weeks:
A page from MandM Scrapbooking Adventures - repurposed in different colours
This is a class that I did with Michelle van Wyk in December last year... eventually found an event with enough photos to fill the booklet.
The following are all from Scrapkits - some the actual kit with a few tweaks and others redone in my own papers.
This one is by Sharon Coetzee that I got as a freebie from Scrapbook 'n Things on the retreat.
So added a few more pages to my growing list of layouts done this year... still a long way off my goal of a layout a day but am making inroads into it.... done over 200 pages so far.

This one is actually a four page layout... here is page 1&2
This is page 3&4
Turned this very girly sewing kit into a lovely unisex one... just using different papers and embellishments

Nuts About Sketches - Week 286
This week's layout at Nuts About Sketches got a good workout from me... hehehe... I substituted and added extra photos and even a flap or two! check this out:
I made a flap of the bottom middle photo and the two right-hand side ones to include lots more pics and my journalling.
And this is the original sketch:
Now to head over to the blog and see some of the other stunning pages on display this week.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 365
This week's sketch and challenges are up on the blog... check them out and be inspired to scrap.
I flipped the sketch to create my layout... and sort of got inspired by the chevron challenge in that I found a chipboard chevron sticker to add to my page... doesn't really count does it?
Remember, you can also download a digital template of the sketch each week... so head over to the blog now.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 364
Here is another layout for today for the reveal at Scrapbook Challenges.
I used some leftover felt hearts on my page and also inked and stacked various white flowers to form some of the embellishments.
There is a true variety of layouts this week on the blog, so check them out.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 285
Last week we had a lovely long weekend... Tuesday being a public holiday and I was fortunate enough to get Monday off work too.... so I did a nice bunch of scrapping all weekend long... along with a visit to the ballet and a scrapday thrown in too!
One of the layouts I managed to create was the one for today's reveal at Nuts About Sketches.
This was a super easy page to put together, and using the Vintage Bliss range from Simple Stories definitely helped too...a couple of blocks here and there and voila one page put together. Just added a few buttons, ink sprinkles and stitching (ala Jowilna!).
Check out the blog today too to see some more great pages by others on the team.

Another scrap day with Jowilna
On Saturday 21 September, Theresa and I spent the day together once again scrapping and learning from Jowilna Nolte... it was a fun day filled with two layouts, breakfast and pizza for lunch! yummy. Nice and relaxed and I even managed to finish both my pages that evening with photos.
A great page with an awesome (easy!) technique... who would have thought that tissue paper and wax crayons plus a bit of ink would go together so well!
This layout was taught by Lee-anne Fischer... a nice simple page which I then tweaked a bit for my photos.
Looking forward to the next one already!
