Now I guess you need to know a little about me, so here goes:
My friends can testify to the fact that I have a slightly bizarre sense of humour.  My favourite colour is blue.  I'm a scrap-a-holic who simply adores chocolate.... ask me to do you a favour and payment will be in chocolate!  I'm a wife to Keith and mother to Aaron (10 years old).  Not too much else comes to mind off hand, except to say that I live in Roodepoort, Gauteng, South Africa (near Johannesburg for those who don't know the geography of our country).  I've been paper scrapping for around 8 years now - simply love it!

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 277

It's my second reveal for Scrapbook Challenges. Here is this week's sketch:

I had fun with my pics.... all about Aaron building some puzzles, so I turned my photos into puzzle pieces too.... love how it turned out.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 195

Today is sadly my last day of leave for this holiday season.  It's been a lovely relaxing time with lots of scrapping, visiting with friends and family or just vegging in front of the tellie.  Tomorrow it's back to the grindstone!!!

Being a Monday, it's time again for a Nuts About Sketches reveal and this week there is a gorgeous double page sketch.

For my layout I choose to do a birthday party that Aaron went to in October last year.  It was a paintball party for a girl in his class.  Guns and that sort of thing is totally not my thing and we tend to steer clear, but as this was one of the few parties Aaron got invited to, I thought "why not"!  BUT I did stay to supervise.... is that being controlling or overprotective?

 

The kids did have a ton of fun but is was horribly hot and dehydration was narrowly avoided.

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 276

My new term with Scrapbook Challenges has started and here is the first sketch that I had to design for:

Being short notice I had to quickly find something to make it work.... what better than a layout about scrapping!

This layout is about a charity scrap day that Theresa and I went to that was given by Michelle van Wyk.  It was Michelle's last class in South Africa before leaving for Australia.  I used some of the papers that were left over from our page we made that day as well as one of the flowers we were taught.  My actual page I ended up giving to a good friend as she had the perfect pics for it.

Some months I seem to read more than others.... guess it depends very much on how much I have going on or how quick a read the book it.  I must say that I can highly recommend virtually all these books - lots of mysteries, a few love stories and plenty of uplifting notes in each one.

Nuts About Sketches - Week 194

It's January and it's Monday... so a new sketch is up at Nuts About Sketches.

My layout is all about a dartboard that Aaron got from Wimpy as his kiddies meal toy... we had a competition to see who could score the highest!

Happy 2012

I saw in the New Year!!!! My friend Judi and I did a "all night" scrap .... from about 4pm yesterday afternoon until after 1am this morning.  It was a night of lots of laughs and plenty of gorgeous layouts.  I managed to do two doubles and three singles and she did one double and two singles.  There was plenty of big bang fireworks going off in our area too, so no way was I going to get any sleep anyway!  Though my two guys did sleep through it all.

Google are even on the Happy New Year bandwagon today... check out today's welcome screen:

I have other exciting news for the start of this year too, but you might have to wait until tomorrow to read it.  It's going to be a fun scrappy year this year I'm sure.
